This is an Italmec heater system relay from my Mondial 3.2, also on the Testarossa's and some others. Can someone please confirm from the case diagram if this 5 pin relay is an always on or always off relay, or some other type? How would I describe this in order to find a suitable new one by Bosch or Hella, etc. Anyone know a Bosch part number this Italmec item crosses to? Image Unavailable, Please Login
You would have to know the current rating, too. Some relays have a diode or resistor across the coil. I don't know if these would be compatible in this case. This FChat thread mentions this Italmec relay with a Bosch equivalent: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/144093013/ But this is currently sold out on Amazon and eBay https://www.amazon.com.au/BOSCH-Current-Relay-Sportage-2058138/dp/B004Z0WHCA Narva has a 40 amp relay with a resistor across the coil: https://www.repco.com.au/en/globes-batteries-electrical/electrical-accessories/flashers-relays/narva-relay-12v-30amp-5pin-68024/p/A8468079 Narva P/N 68024
I came up with this ..but not sure https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/0332019151.htm?pn=0-332-019-151-INT https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-engine-cooling-fan-motor-relay-740-760-780-745-940-0332019151?ads_cmpid=14308704881&ads_adid=126404518775&ads_matchtype=&ads_network=g&ads_creative=539621335898&utm_term=&ads_targetid=pla-293946777986&utm_campaign=&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&ttv=2&gclid=CjwKCAjwybyJBhBwEiwAvz4G76kcxQgn4A24rKgxD_mqSu9u7YrIe03jElWZKGthkWZi2KSO8Kmp0hoCVbsQAvD_BwE
The relay map on the case is slightly different. That's partly what is confusing me. Image Unavailable, Please Login The 87 and 87a pins are toggling in the opposite direction as the Italmec one, if I read this correctly. The Narva one I think has the same toggle as the Italmec, although I can't quite make it out on the Narva case.
Those "maps" are the same relay logic: When the 85-86 coil is unenergized (which is how the maps are drawn) = the 30 terminal is not connected to anything, and the two 87 terminals are connected together. When the 85-86 coil is energized = the 30 terminal and both 87 terminals are all connected together. It should work OK as a replacement for that Italmec (as Ian noted the current rating may be slightly different, but it's a little too simplistic to put a single value as a current rating as the relay manufacturers usually rate life vs current and # of cycles, and there's no real standardization for these ratings -- so what one relay manufacturer calls a "30A relay" may not be exactly the same spec as another manufacturer's "30A relay").
the relay i showed you has 87 and 87 .. normally open .. i think the diagram (arm) doesn't make a difference Check amps though
No marking on the Italmec indicating amps...not sure about the 160 number on the case after the 12V reference.
I'm not either, but it could be the coil current in mA (when 12V is applied) -- just a guess. That Bosch 0332019151 is the later plastic case replacement for the stock Bosch 0332014113 metal case relay, and the Bosch 0332014113 is used on many F models for the HVAC blower motor so either the plastic ...151 or metal ...113 should be OK IMO.
the relays in the testarossa that have same internal config like the one you are referring to have a number of 332014113 ..but i am sure you already knew that - 30amps Image Unavailable, Please Login 332014113
Make sure the pins are in the same location - there was a difference between the old Italian SIPEA relays and the new purple Bosch unit. I needed to swap round the connections in the socket for the Bosch to work. The new brown Bosch ones have the same pin attributions as the old SIPEA.
