    Here is Canada it really appears that people who commit similar offences rarely go to jail, etc. If they do it is for a short period of time and/or slap on the wrist. If the perpetrator is connected Politically then there is a good chance that zero will happen to them. I say this, as there are tons and tons of cases similar to this and I have yet to see anyone truly receive any form of judicial punishment that would be a deterrent and/or be fitting of the crimes they have committed. In fact a recent article, although dissimilar to the subject of this thread, demonstrates this:

    Going back further, if someone is connected politically, magically, the Prosecutor decides to drop the charges as they "felt" that a conviction would be unlikely and yet if an average person was in a similar situation they have the full weight of the Judicial system placed upon them no matter the conviction "feelings" of the Prosecutor:

    Sadly, the legal/judicial system seems to only apply to those that actually follow the law... to those that do not, then they game the system to their advantage resulting in no real retribution.

    This is under the authority of the Ontario Securities Commission. “The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.”

    Nowhere does the OSC claim to have penalized offenders, including repeat offenders.

    Reza broke the rules of his parole, but it seems that no one in Canada cares for recidivism.

    Seriously, someone should go check out the hearing on January 11 and report back.
