Agree. STO convertible has no interest to me....defeats the purpose and goes against the ethos. There will be plenty lining up for the open top though, much as the case with the 765.
Assuming this is true the MSRP for the Spyder would be around $425k CAD plus options meaning the spyder would easily hit $500k+. I'm sorry but I don't see a market for a $500k+ Huracan especially for a track focused variant which will have the same HP and be heavier. The STO pricing is already a stretch hence why a lot of people opt out of the carbon packages and paint so imagine spyder pricing.
Easy solution: limit it to 500 units and market it as the final edition Huracan. 500 is perhaps all they could sell at that price anyways, and it will indeed be the last variant. Better yet, delete the rear wing and call it the ultimate [emoji38]
I still have doubts we'll see a STO spyder even if it's limited because the Perf spyder was a flop but I do agree we'll see some sort of final edition parts bin special Huracan with STO bits.
I got this info from a pretty good source but I am not convinced 100% either. Either way, a convertible version of such a focused car doesn't make sense to me.
Car seemed very stable, sound here is approximating the V10, which in person is heavenly. Shmee claimed STO is almost daily driver material. If the car was not too much for Shmee to handle, it should be likewise for any serious driver.
His view on the suspension was more slanted toward DD usage than Jww indicated, but out of these two reviewers I would personally rate Jww's word over Shmee as he strikes me more of the driver in better tune with the equipment and, appears do do much more circuit driving than Shmee who appears to do a lot of swanning around. I also couldn't help but notice Shmee's body jigging up down very rapidly most of the time which completely contradicted his comments on the ride. His comment on the steering also wasn't that inspiring, although Lambo's have never been reported as having a particularly great steering feel (from owners who I track with) - so I guess no real surprises there. I guess one's measure of steering feel ultimately comes down to what they are comparing it against - for example Macs and Gt Porsche's bar is set very high there....hard to match. The problem I've always found with most of these car reviews is that the reviewer is seeking to review as favorably as possible to keep the giver of the car in good stead, otherwise they may not be given future opportunities - which is understandable. With this in mind my jury will be out until I get to drive the car later this year. However, going by what was explained to me personally - and I'm sure a lot of what gets said comes down to what is asked and how it is asked - is the car is a very stiff set up and really suited mainly for track usage which is what the model was made specifically for (as most should already know). So expectations surrounding the on road ride comfort would best be carefully managed. It isn't such a matter of whether the car can be driven on the road, but more of why would you use it on the road over something more livable yet equally if not more compelling to actually drive (fast and slow). No doubt there will be always the poser set who will tolerate anything for the sake of being seen in a Lambo, and will always speak favorably regardless of the truth, which is exactly why it's always best being your own judge. Those with other cars to choose from, the issue of ride comfort will naturally become less of an issue, particularly if the car is purchased to actually use in the environment in which it was set up for - in this case race track!
I am starting to get a little concerned about the STO exhaust. This is a comment from the latest Schmee video. The comment appears to be from an actual owner. It sounds like the exhaust is valved in the STO. Hopefully there’s an easy resolution. I will say that the exhaust tone and decibel level in the Performante was perhaps it’s crowing achievement. I really hope the STO can approximate that. Image Unavailable, Please Login Here’s the latest Schmee video. My apologies to the folks that don’t care for him, I know there are many.
I’ll probably be driving it in Trofeo mode 80% of the time, considering it will be on the track. Shouldn’t be difficult getting valves pinned or whatever. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I suspect this is a requirement for Euro delivered cars and that the valve settings won’t make their way to other markets. For example, the Senna has a different exhaust configuration (3 outlets) for Europe to reduce sound levels at startup as per local regulations. American cars have twin pipes. Let’s hope this is the case.
Putting mine in Tuesday as I'm still vacillating on the color. Told Jan delivery which isn't bad. I understand if you go nuts with MSO stuff like tint carbon it dramatically delays it... fortunately the general MSO options don't cause an issue.
Its a custom 1 of 1 color which the rendering doesn’t do justice. Full custom interior with senna seats. Every interior option in blue tinted carbon. Hope it looks as good in person as I envision in my mind. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It’s a grey. I guess similar to chalk but we did a custom mix and added blue flake to it so in the sun, the color shines blue to complement the interior.
