I know there are many threads about the F8 exhaust. I want to hear from owners who have done an F8 exhaust and are happy with it and have no check engine lights. What did you buy exactly.

    Brand?
    Cat no cat
    100 cell / 200?
    X-pipe?

I just want the best sounding exhaust with no CEL and the best chance to not void the warranty.

Man, I would talk to your dealer about the warranty situation. I believe they have to prove that a certain part caused he failure, but, it has me hesitant to change the cats until my warranty is out. I will likely do the Novitec X pipe only at this point....I have the Pista, but once you remove the GPF from the F8, I think we are talking the same kind of thing.

Watching anxiously. If there is a good solution to this….I will jump back in. Outside of sound - one of best Ferrari’s ever built.

I did the Forza controller which only opens the valves with no CEL . It’s not the end all be all but it is ~ 40 pct better.

I should have my Kline inconel 200 cell cats and valvetronic exhaust installed, with before & after dyno charts/videos by the middle of the month. I also have the Novitec Switchtronic and Techtronic OBD plugin. Still waiting for Kline to ship their OBD plug in…

Hopefully will find a combination that will eliminate the CEL issue, but it’s gonna be some trial & error. Novitec’ s customer service pretty much blows, no installation instructions or help via email. Kline has been great, but they are way behind on their OBD plugin.

I got the novitec system on my f8 spider, same one I did on my F8 coupe. No check engine light and happy with the sound.

It would be great to keep this as the main F8 exhaust thread with videos and advice uploaded all in one place. Looking forward to seeing and hearing what you guys are up to. Kudos to saying screw the warranty but I may not be as bold for the first few years!

@ Dicecal - How does the Techtronic OBD plug in work?
Is it an ECU flash, or does it needs to stay plugged in?

@ Cigarzman - Are you considering an X-pipe or something else in addition to your Forza controller?

Defiantly not doing anything else. It’s good enough for me as it is. I just don’t need want to get into a pissing contest with Ferrari if there are any issues with the car. That’s just a loosing proposition all the way around. I had the Forza controller purchased and installed by my F dealer just for the reasons aforementioned. Best , Kirk.

So the valveless means it is always loud correct? Who did you buy it from?

Also did you get an OBD plug in to keep from getting CEL’s?

Valveless is always “loud,” but not in relative terms to an NA car. It’s as if the valves were always opened which they are 90% of the time.

Correct, it is always "loud" since they are always open, but its really not 458 loud so its never been an issue. It sounds better than stock but nothing crazy. Yes, got the novitec techtronic so no check engine light. Bought it from a local automotive custom shop who gets it directly from Novitec North America.

    Sorry for the ignorant question

But did you just add the Forza Controller to the stock OEM exhaust?

I have Novitec Valveless + Tectronic (kept stock cats). Sound improvement is huge - exotic high-pitch, much higher volume inside & outside of car, some minor pops on deceleration but nothing obnoxious, no CEL's or issues with over 2,000km so far. Highly recommend!

Sounds like a good, safe way to go as far as warranty issues. I imagine removing the GPF works wonders on the F8.
