Do over is a good plan! I'll probably get sashimi, sushi and rolls for dinner. But I have a meeting in downtown Vancouver this afternoon. Not sure of the time and might be close to dinner. I meet this guy at White Spot. There I have either beef dip or a clubhouse or bacon cheeseburger.
Not the best pictures, but this was CHEAP, fairly easy, and AMAZING! Chicken breasts pounded thin, seasoned with some pepper & grated parm, then a thin layer of Swiss cheese. A layer of thinly sliced, mildly smoked ham, and another layer of thin Swiss cheese. Rolled tightly, held together with a toothpick, rubbed with ranch dressing, then coated. Served with leftover backed potatoes and green beans. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Meeting was at 2pm and I ate left over Chinese before going. Didn't eat at the restaurant, just had a coke. My Dad was with me, so we stopped at my favorite Japanese restaurant on the way home. I over ordered. Ordered a sushi boat for two people. Ordered my scallop rolls. The sushi boat comes with 10 pieces of assorted sashimi and a bunch of sushi and two kinds of rolls. I'm stuffed. My Dad had his usual seafood Udon.

We had more butternut squash, so the wife made butternut squash purée filled ravioli from scratch. Her first-ever attempt at fresh pasta. I made a brown butter sage sauce, and this time actually browned the butter… Served the pasta dish with grilled fish skewers and more corn. Wifey did the green beans. She's a genius with them & manages just the right bit of firmness & perfect seasoning with a smoked ham base. Could skip everything else & just eat those.
Sounds scrumptious. I stink at green beans. I gave up years ago and just stick with canned green beans and the traditional holiday season casserole. Fish and chips special was on haddock. 1 piece haddock, fries and 12 shrimp for $11.95. For $9 more I added five oysters. I like halibut more, but haddock or is it mostly cod is used in British fish and chips, so it was more authentic.
I thought cod was more common, but I think just about any white fish. Last night's dinner was leftovers in a tortilla. Cleaning out the freezer a tad. Image Unavailable, Please Login Ahi. Not too hot, but just enough heat. Replaced cumin seeds with a sprinkle of cumin, and instead of coriander seeds a sprinkle of cardamom. Will use a little less vinegar and salt next time. T
Boys wanted steak. Seems like a Friday night tradition. Also grilled some brussel sprouts and pleased with the results.
You must have a samsung phone? I've still yet to come to understand the 'food' camera mode. I don't comprehend the blurring it does. I refuse to use that mode.

I think haddock is in the cod family. I looked it up and they use cod in England and haddock in Scotland more. I decided to have fish and chips again tonight. But this time halibut. I'll add prawns and oysters. Or maybe the panko shrimp, you get 24 for $10. My dads eating with me and we'll get my brother something. Both are coming over to watch boxing.
