Just bought a 348 that is going to need a major soon, and am looking for a good indie shop that knows Ferrari's. Looking to avoid what I expect will be much higher prices at Continental.

Steve and Vic at European Auto (2547 N Lincoln, Chicago) do a great job. The challenge with any Indy shop is getting in the queue.

I am interested in this too. Can anyone also comment on Fluid Motor Union? Really appreciate it.

Have you called them to actually compare price and see what they include in the major service?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Avoid fluid motor union. Guys with attitudes to make up for the lack of knowledge. Try Gus’s auto imports. Owner has a 430, super honest and quality work.

Based on their web sight, they seem more Porsche than Ferrari.

Probably more widely known for P cars but he works on everything mostly European and generally has a handful of F cars in the shop at any given time. I know he's actively involved with at least one of the local driving enthusiasts clubs and seems to be a trusted resource within that community so that's says something. Full disclosure I haven't had to use him personally as I do most of my own work, but if I run into something I can't handle he'll be my first call.

Al at GT Motorsports up in Pewaukee. I understand that his location is further out than your desired range but he knows 8cyl FCars inside and out.

Drive the car up, take the train back. I’ve done it a couple of times. Reverse sequence to pick it up. Al is honest, knowledgeable, and you will appreciate a savings compared to anything in or around Chicago.

Someone else mentioned Giovanni, I second that but he is in high demand and can be difficult to secure an appointment.
