Sold 289 "SlabSide" Cobra (replica)

This "JohnEx" 289 Cobra “Slab Side” was built in-house by the JohnEx corporation in 2006 and used in their showroom to display their build quality. This low mileage example (2900 miles) has been wonderful cared for, with recent work including a new aluminum front accessory drive, new Holley 600 carb, MSD Electronic Ignition, Ceramic coated headers, correct Tilton pedal box, Aluminum rad, and more. Frame was built by CSR Racing, and includes a coil over suspension, Tremec 5 speed, and four wheel disc brakes. This is an extremely high quality build, and has been properly sorted out. Tonneau cover and fitted storage cover included. Asking $49k USD.

Beautiful, I definitely want to own one of these. What's the actual engine displacement on this one? (I know smarter people could probably tell by looking at the engine pic...)

I am 6 foot, and can fit quite comfortably. Entry and exit is a little bit of an acquired skill that you can pick up pretty easily.

Both have their merits, but the simpler, more-original-to-AC Ace body was always my favorite.

Dave, that color looks like Mazda's Montego Blue, which is gorgeous on curvy cars like this (and a '93 RX7 and '94 Miata M that I had).
Does this one have the inboard rear brakes?
Wish I had the space.... and $$$ to spare.

where is it located now?

 

300 lb-ft doesn't sound like much, but when the car doesn't even click 1,000kg, it scoots JUST FINE.

they really are a spectacular thing.
