I have a pair of the Daytona brake regulating valves that really need a serious overhaul/ restoration; has anyone rebuilt theirs? Or are we just buying new ones? I don't recall anything about them in the workshop manual ( I will admit it's been a while since I actually looked!).
Is there a rebuild kit available for them?
    Thanks for any replies
    The Captain

I asked the same about a Dino proportioning valve to a brake parts pro rebuilder, Karps.

He said, toss everything out from the inside, they really don't do anything.
Haven't tried yet, but it would not be a difficult experiment on a nice long deserted road.

On racing cars, we used a cockpit mounted proportioning valve, maybe you can put one
under the car, adjust it to panic braking mode, and be done with it.

Alberto, I've rebuilt them on several cars.
And they do have a purpose and actually do something.
Besides, if I'm not mistaken, Ronny (Karp) or Jeff (took over after Ron retired) have never driven a Daytona, with or without brake pressure balance valves and likely not a Dino either.
I've known Ron & Jeff for decades and done fair amount of business with both.

Timo you are quite right, but have you ever tried a car with the valve emptied out?
You are most likely right, neither Karp drove a car, but maybe they did?

PS. I sent you 2 photos of the headlight switch, one in the car, the second, the one I have.
    Numbers are the same.

    Regards, Alberto

    Hello Timo,
Do you recall the parts you used to rebuild them? Are they still available? I find it difficult to accept the factory would have fitted them if they are of no use, though, Alberto. Surely the whole point of them is to prevent the rears locking up before the fronts, in severe breaking situations?
    Thanks for your replies, Gentlemen.
    kind regards
    The Captain

Captain, you have very valid points as Timo does also.
Try calling Karps, and get a feel.
    Let us know.

Observation: It appears we might be discussing two different components, the proportioning valve, which is located below master cylinder in the engine bay and two manually adjustable pressure regulating valves located under the car, above the transaxle.

To my (limited and obviously uneducated) understanding, a proportioning valve in the case of Daytona is intended to (automatically) control or maintain equal pressure balance between two separate (upper & lower) full circuits Daytona braking system is made with, while the two regulator valves are intended to allow front/rear balance to be manually adjusted/set individually for each of the two (upper & lower) circuits.

    Alberto,
I haven’t driven any car or more specifically any Daytona with proportioning or pressure regulator valves "empty" or completely removed, but have experimented with different adjustments for latter in few cars, hence my long ago request/search (which some here may recall) about finding a facility or a shop with brake testing dyno (common in where I grew up, but nobody around here has never even heard of them). I’ve since devised a somewhat rudimentary methods and equipment to test and adjust them accordingly without a need for multiple road tests.
And basically, adjustments on them do make a difference.

    Captain,
I can look into my notes and stock of spare parts, but it'll like be next week at earliest. IIFC, no instructions or parts indicated in any of the factory manuals.

    Hello Timo,
    that would be greatly appreciated.
    Hello Alberto,
I don't really want to call Karps, I don't know who they are; I'm in the UK, and I would probably try Cherry's ( the guys Grant used in his incredible restoration of the ' Holey Daytona ').
I'm still after those pesky Daytona seat mounts/sliders btw, or at the least a left hand side 308 sliding guide rail ( just the locking side to be precise).
    All the best
    the Captain

    Hello Howard,
Thank you very much for your photo; ironically just this evening the fiat specialist I bought the other 3 parts of the the seat guides from emailed me with the news they had found the elusive left slider(with lock). I might still be interested in your set, however; please tell me how much you want for them?
Thanks for going to the trouble of getting them out and photographing them. I greatly appreciate it.
    kind regards
    The Captain
