I finally had the car checked by the dealership this morning and the leak is from the DCT pan gasket.

They told me it's fine to drive and have ordered a new pan and gasket.

Isn't fuel usage just 1 of the polluting things the EPA keep track of? I.e., Oil/other fluids are part of EPA calculations; so less used, better EPA rating, better corporate score. ??

Yesterday did the Back of the Dragon, and the Head of the Dragon drives in VA, WV. Great roads, great scenery.
My friend’s C8 spider (red mist, Z51) got ALL of the attention and love.
In that color with the sun shining it is absolutely stunning.
On the Back of the Dragon there are some areas that are very tight and twisty and we were “hitting it pretty hard” and the C8 in no way was compromised to either the 911 GT3 or 911 turboS with regards to objective performance on a challenging public road section.
I suspect, for me however, the sheer pleasure of driving the manual GT3 was superior...just bouncy, raw and engaging in that sublime 911 way.
    But that C8 is amazing.

Well, back to the dealer on Monday. My glovebox refuses to open. I told them last time but they didn't fix it.

Also I lost another rear tire. They said they would price match anyone so I'll see if I can get a tire from them also. $600 down the drain on a tire that's got 1000 miles on it.

Are you sure it is not caused by a wheel defect causing the tire to get damaged?

I'm pretty sure its a nail or something. But I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow to have it checked out. I can hear a kind of tapping as the wheel rolls at low speeds. To me, that's metal in the tire somewhere.

We are beginning to have "lots" of them in Lancaster County PA. I did not realize how large they are (or are to me). I live within 5 miles of the Manheim Auction and there are quite a number of used car dealers adjacent. Passing by on Thursday morning, there was one with 5 on their lot! Checking their website, the least expensive was in the 90's, with the balance between $100 - 110K.

I see them in LA and I don't drive around much. They've built like 30K of them already.

Keep in mind that Michelin allows TWO repairs to the tire while maintaining the speed rating. The tire MUST be patched internally. Obviously, leaks in the sidewalls are NOT repairable and the tire must be replaced.
I got a nail in the rear tire of mine at 600 miles. Took it to the dealer and the service writer told me that the tire could not be fixed (being a runflat). I told her that was incorrect, she calls the Corvette tech to the service drive, and he echoes the same thing...I pull up Michelin site and show them what Michelin says, and they repaired the tire.

PS. The exception to the repair rule is if the tire was driven for any distance with NO air in it. Then it must be replaced. In my case, I got a low pressure warning in the morning (down to 15 psi), I pumped it up and drove to the dealer 5 miles away, the tire had lost 2 psi.

I dropped it off this morning and put in "repair tire". They are going to look at it. If the nail is in the middle area its possible. If not, its toast.

That is correct (nail in tread face is repairable, sidewall is not). Make sure they PATCH it internally (tire must come off the rim), not an external plug. Michelin is very clear that external plugs (the old rubber worm with cement on it that you push through the hole and then pull it back through) cannot be used. The tire must be dismounted from the rim and patched internally.

Its a GONER! Two tires in 2 months with the exact same problem on the exact same tire. I wouldn't feel as bad if it was the other tire. At least I would have had 2 new rears. This tire has like 500 miles on it.

Drive past any construction sites? Work trucks tend to 'shed' miscellaneous nails, screws, etc. when they leave every day. (incl. 5 gal pails of paint  )

They've been doing a large construction project next door. I have no idea but that may be the culprit.
