So… a very good friend one of my best friends got a F8…drove it 3 times and traded it back in for a Aventador. I’ve not driven either car but he says the F8 has no soul, the event is not there like other Ferraris he has had 430 Scuds 458, 488, car is no fun and the car is so smooth and tame I t’s like driving a lux coupe. Plus he says it sounds absolutely horrible and he was going to have to do cat delete complete exhaust to get the Ferrari sound out of it and lose warranty…so he bailed on it. He even did novi springs and HRE wheels to get the ride height and wheel offsets right…car looked stunning….but…. Sad as it’s Scud Red with race seats and the right options and a cool color. I really want a Pista…but $$$$…I’d have to do stupid money stuff to get one. I keep thinking I want a F8 but things just aren’t pushing me over the top to make it happen over my 488. I figure since this is a Ferrari chat board and F8 thread you all will think he is crazy and me too…but I guess some people just like different things in a car that defines …fun?
Different strokes for different folks. The Aventador drives like crap compared to the F8, it has the wild looks, great exhaust and scissor doors but the F8 blows it away in pure driving performance. The F8 can be a comfortable cruiser or you can make it as aggressive as you want. Put it in Race mode, manually shift and have fun.
Aventador single clutch old school technology and performance. Never updated and doesn’t drive as well as their Performante.
The criticisms of the F8 could be equally made against the 488. Will you be trading your 488 in for a car with more soul? For me, my F8 is everything I wanted and is a beast. It is the way of the world. The older cars sound better, the newer cars are faster. It is a fact I knew before I ordered it. I knew the F8 is not as loud as my 458. I used to joke at large Ferrari club events, that the 488's must be sneaking into the show, as we never hear them. I am sure the same can be said for the F8. But when I driving my F8 through the paces in race mode, not in Auto, shifting at redline, it has a frightening amount of soul to me.
Thanks for the nice reply. For me personally not sure what I’ll trade in for when the time comes. I’ve never really gotten the whole soul thing…performance is what I tend to love. I get some cars feel more raw than others…but soul…humm not sure. With music I can surely tell you all about feel and soul…lol. I’ve never driven an old Porsche or old Ferrari…that many talk about as having soul. I’ve been in them as a passenger. Oldest Porsche I’ve had is a 2001…plenty of 2006-2018 911 ending with a GT3. Newer was always better for me normally. If I get an F8 I will definitely need to find a simple way to get just a tad bit more sound though.
Exactly!!! I would read these kind of comments about lack of soul before I bought my F8 and I was concerned. Now I read them and smile to myself. I know what I’ve got and it is anything but soulless. The F8 is almost the consummate Ferrari in my opinion.

Agree on all counts. I think I'm over Lambo. Sold my TT Huracan a few weeks ago and don't miss it. I think the F8 is amazing. Mine is lowered, has exhaust and wheels, and is perfect for me. I did consider getting a Pista for a minute, but lost interest in it quickly. To pay more for a car that I think is actually inferior to the F8 just isn't my thing. I do, however, have an SF90 on order, and it is so different from the F8 that I think they will complement each other very nicely. I also think the cost is justifiable because I'm of the strong opinion that it's a legitimate hypercar for a supercar price. All that said, back to the F8, in the under $400k range I don't think a better overall car exists.
