I think optimizing the sport for the “show” would be better than harping on efficiency and reliability like they are now.

I actually think they did well, with the social media and all, something Bernie refused in the past. Presently, what's more concerning is things like the stupid hybrid and all, rather than the marketing perspective.

The engine manufacturers want the hybrid power units. I thought that was well understood?

I find this more than plausible…live-streaming content is one of Netflix’s last frontiers. It will also open the doors to other things like gaming and sports wagering, which more and more platforms are aiming to offer.

Bigger audiences, can only mean greater spectacle for the sport no? Curious to hear what everyone’s reservations are.

They wont want them for long with legislation forcing EV agenda, being associated with ICE engines will be bad news in the not so distant and companies like Mercedes are already shutting down
    ICE development projects.

They may want to buy the commercial viewing rights, but I find it hard to believe they could buy F1 as an entity.

Haha. I never made it through the first episode, but I can see the similarities to recent F1 races.

    Tiger King = Train Wreck
    F1 races = mercedes train

Were you not entertained? That show become an international phenomenon almost overnight...now it's Squid Game from Korea, such is the reach of Netflix's platform.

Fortunately Formula E holds the rights to EV single seater racing. So if manufacturers are dead keen on racing EV's, they can do it there. Hello sustainable fueled F1 with exciting engines, lol.

In other words, the TV rights, correct? I don't know the exact breakdown, but isn't that where the vast majority of the income comes from? Ticket sales go to the individual race promoters.
