Congratulations Lewis! As they continue (and they will) to criticize you (personally) and your performance, the record stands. 100 Formula One wins! They don't like it, but they can't take it away! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The new stat in F1 record books from now on will include “Drivers with 100 wins and 100 poles” 1. Lewis Hamilton 2. 3.
Hedging his bets. Team made the call to pit for inters and he ignored them for a lap, then disagreed with the call as he reluctantly drove into the pits a lap later. If it worked out, he wins. If not, he was right and blames the team. He sure doesn't lead the league in character or teamability.
100 wins for Louise, Lewis, Elton, crapilton whatever the haters call him… That’s a respectable achievement. Solid race. Championship lead. Superb max in 2nd who, for once, had a bit of luck at the end. This is going down to the wire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You could put a puppet in that Mercedes and it would still win these past years. Hamilton, Rosberg and Bottas all massively inflated their F1 stats thanks to driving that hybrid Mercedes. Well done Mercedes.
Same is likely true in the senna/Prost era, we saw the least talented of them all , hill, be WDC in 96, same for Schumacher 00-04 era. I get it: Lewis isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and isn’t my goat too… but even before Mercedes he was a world champion in a non WDC car in 08…last driver to do that? MS in 94… Point is, he is good and an all time great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Totally agree but Mercedes must be mainly congratulated for what they have managed to build. Hamilton is a great driver ,no doubt about this, but not in the proportions shown by his track record since 2014.
This and not to mention the rules and regulations that favored Mercedes for their dominance. 2021 is quite different though regarding giving Mercedes competition with RedBull and 2 opposing drivers.
Without the exploding Pirellis and the Incidents caused by MB Max would have a decent lead in the WDC but still amazing result for him. He’s on his own in this fight.
I have always said "you make your own luck" Hamilton, like today, was lucky. But he made that luck and had the talent to pull it off. 100 victories is pretty amazing. Everyone forgets they said Hamilton was an idiot for leaving McLaren to join Mercedes. How did that work out for him?
Everyone didn’t had the insight information Hamilton had back then. Without Hamilton it would have been most other drivers to be as successful at that no 1 Mercedes seat.
Hamilton did not win today, Noris lost, Noris lost because he did not come in for inters at the right time. Lewis merely passed the finish line first.
Fight history all you want, only one man has won 100 races in F1. Might as well argue anyone could have started Microsoft. Yes true, but Bill Gates did even though any off us could have. Lol
+1 Lauda made a pledge to Ham for the 2014 car, that Schumacher had helped develop. Button in the Mercedes would've bagged many WDC's too.
So he was LUCKY Noris did such a bonehead move to ignore his team. There was literally no way Hamilton would have won if Noris just did what his team wanted and told him to do.
He took that chance and had to get it right for years now. Saying anyone could do it is ridiculous. They werent in the seat. No one has any clear idea or proof of the performance another would have yielded. Zero. I give credit because it was LH who moved to Mercedes and was recruited by Lauda. Lauda. Lauda did not recruit Button or anyone else. Lauda. He knew talent and trusted his instinct LH was the correct driver for the job Lauda. He knew a bit or 2 about F1. LH had to fight Rosberg. Very closely matched. That did not appear easy to me. LH took the car and won. Vettel took a Ferrari and lost potentially 2 titles. LH took a winning car and won. That was his job. If that upsets people here they can go watch tennis lol. I had no idea what LH would do. I watched and was curious. I was impressed. He kept winning. I find it quite funny that is a problem for people on this forum.
All true. If Hammy were a Ferrari driver, and the Ferrari was the top car, no one here would be complaining, would they?
