I got the car back from media blast today. More rot was exposed!! Normally I get the car epoxy coated after blasting, but this car has so much metal work we decided to do the metal work then it can go back to media blast for a second time. You can see how the factory did the front indicator lights with lots of lead. Tuesday we start the metal work, I'm thinking a months worth of work.. It looks like you need a straight bench and a good amount of oval tubing in various dimensions! Best, Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lots of work. Anyone know where I can get oval tubing. I used to get it from superformance.co.uk but they no longer can provide it.
I have just finished repairing a chassis frame using the oval profiles from Proformance metals.....Highly recommendable product and great company to deal with and wonderful that we now have a proven source for these hard to get profiles. They produce the profiles within acceptable tolerance in the size you require: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login The oval pipes above are made from E235 seamless round pipe that is cold drawn (pulled through a oval sized die without any heat applied). The thickness is approximately 2 mm. I had the following dimensions produced: Best regards Peter
We started on the metal work today. As you can see this car started out as a Euro body and the euro lights were cut out and was modified at the factory to incorporate the new indicator lights. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

the metal work is truly amazing! he could be working at the pininfarina factory on new prototypes! I can't wait to see it. Mike
Jon was kind enough to let my 5 Year old, Emmy Lou, inspect the Dino Prototype and admire his magic. This is such a cool Dino. The original metal is in very bad shape in areas. It is amazing what Jon does to breathe life back into history. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jon, Long time no see. Questions: 1) Picture grinding paint off metal - looks like flared wheel well. Different car? 2) Have you a magic trick for stuffing new foam in sun visors on the Dino? My foam rains down on me after each road bump. Jim S.
Here is my short blurb on possible sun visor repair: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/sun-visor-foam.636327/
It's the same car Jim, no flares on this car just normal ones. You have to get all the old foam out which is mostly powder by now. If you want to keep the same material thats on the visors you have to cut and sew.
