When I ordered the F8 spider, I chose the Li Ion battery option. However, I learned that this option had been deleted, so my car came with the standard AGM battery.

now that I have the car, I have been observing the charging levels while driving. I noticed that often the charging is quite low at 12.4 volts and often only goes up to 13.2-13.5 volts.

I decided to contact Braille to find out if this low level was enough to maintain their Li Ion. After some discussion the reply was maybe not.

Does anyone with an F8 have the Ferrari Li Ion or upgraded on their own to a Braille?

How is your Li Ion battery doing?

Doesn't matter what kind of battery you have. Voltage is an indirect measure of battery charging. Charging is all about electron flow and the most direct measure of that is current. Cars used to have amperage metering but no longer. Voltage is directly proportional to current but inversely proportional to impedance. Thus voltage measurements are only mildly useful to judge battery status. For example, an aging battery near end of life with high internal impedance may cause high voltage readings yet very little current flow and no battery charging.

That being said, I have a pista with lithium battery. I keep the battery on tendor and charged. The typical operating voltage when running on the engine alternator is typically 12.5-13.7V. I would expect a partially depleted battery require no more than mid 14v range for adequate charging assuming battery condition and impedance of the system are optimal. I have no no issues as long as the battery is kept charged.

Without going into diagrams ild say the alternators are the same 488/pista/F8. Also the conditions when the alternator engages to be the same.

So any positive installs of a Braille in a 488 would be good reference. But given the cost actually I'm surprised many have avoided it.

just fyi, as you guessed, the 488/Pista/F8 use identical alternators (Ferrari PN 309645)

I would say that you are blessed without the Lithium battery.....at least you can jump start the car in a worse case scenario. With us Pista folks that becomes a pain point and ultra expensive replacement.

well, my Anti-Gravity battery in my F430 works just fine 2 years now flawless in fact . It has built in internal emergency jump starting accessible w/ one of the two remote controls too and is what, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login $1500 LESS than a Braille ?
( Oh yes, braille whilst arguably a MUCH better battery does not offer that feature ! )
and weighs 40+ pounds less than conventional lead acid ! LOL

I upgraded my 458 spider to the antigravity and it works fine and lasts forever. I just took delivery of my F8 spider and I opened the kick panel and noticed that it is an AGM battery which is essentially a dry lead acid. I spoke to the boys at Ferrari of Newport Beach Service and they were not sure if it is in fact the same battery (The group h6/48). I'm sure the antigravity will work fine on this car as well and what's nice is that it has the reserve shut off so there is no need to jump start the car.

The AG will work just fine. It was designed to replace AGM batteries as well as wet cell batteries. It is also a 48 size.

I'm using an Antigravity Battery with a CTEK lithium charger in my F8. It's been great.

Hi, I don't find F8 model option from Antigravity site; since you are already using it, could you share what exact antigravity battery model you have on your F8?

It is the H6 Group 48, same as the F430, the 458, and 488 models. I have one in both my 458 and F8 and it works great.
