People taking selfies in front of your Ferrari

Here is something you can probably all relate to in one way or another. It’s a beautiful day outside. You’re a bit hungry and want to get out and do things. So you drive your Ferrari up to the gas station to hang out, eat fried chicken, and play video poker.

So anyways I pulled the tarp off the Mondial and took off. I took the long way to get her warm and run her hard. As I get to the station, I decide to park her by the windows so I can see it from the video poker machine.

There was some fried chicken that had been sitting under the lamps a while. I stood there trying to judge what pieces looked the best when the girl that works there says
“That sure is a nice car Joe. Do you want me to drop some fresh chicken in the fryer?”
I was stunned for a second because she’s never offered that before. “That would be great” I said.
“You like the drumsticks don’t ya?”, she asked.
“Yea” I said
“How many you want Joe?
“Five”. I was hungry.

I went over to the video poker machine and started playin. A few minutes later, instead of calling my name, she brought my chicken to me! I thought “Wow. This must be what it’s like to be a Ferrari owner”.

Just then the hottest piece of tail on Magnolia TX, Meredith, walks in to buy a pack of smokes. She walks right past me and I don’t know what kind of perfume she had on, but it got me all riled up. She just smelled like a woman. She walked over to the counter in her normal cut off shorts and halter top. My eyes went right to her back side. I done memorized that tribal design tramp stamp tattoo in my mind. I could paint a picture from memory of that muffin top stickin out the side of her shorts. “I like your car Joe” she says. I just decided to look bored and say “Ok”. On the inside I was literally freaking out. She has never talk to me before. I don’t want to say that she is a Golddigger but she always seems to be dating the guy that has the best pick up truck in town.

Then some high school kids pull up to get gas and get out their truck and they all start posing in front of my Mondial taking pictures. They were doing those hip-hop poses where they lean backwards and cross their arms. I was trying just to coolly pretend to ignore Meredith and play poker but these kids kept rubbing their jeans up against my car. Finally I turned Meredith and said “Hey I’ll talk to you later I’m about to leave. Do you want to finish my game?”

Then I briskly walked outside and jumped in the Mondial and left. On the way home I started asking myself some big questions. Would I have had a better time and been more relaxed if I just took my pick up truck? What’s the point of having this car if I don’t feel like I can go anywhere in it and I’m always worrying about it. So I want to ask you guys how do you deal with the anxiety of people touching the car? Are you always worried about it? Does this ever get any easier?

Oh, I forgot to add one thing. Besides the chicken, I also had a fried chimichanga.

Pro-tip: If you order a fried chimichanga at a chicken place, expect that chimichanga to taste like chicken.

 

JAM1, You hit a sensitive subject bro. I wish Mom was still around to go with me. I take it that your mom is still with you. I would say that if you still have the chance to go eat fried chicken with her in your Ferrari, do it! As soon as you can.
