Ha. I thought about this 5 minutes after making the handle originally. The admins were cool and changed it for me. I shall forever be known as ... me.
Crazy thing about this car is the steering wheel alone is worth $95K so you'd be getting a 355 for $10K. That is a deal my friends.
Sold at $70k. Frankly I can't believe it pulled that much. Here are some of the issues with that car. Top: manual operation only. Rear shocks leaking. Missing rain shields on both sides of engine bay. Fog light seriously clouded. Leather on seats appears as if it was replaced poorly. Black stripe appears to be electrical tape? (too wide, not OE). Engine had good compression but 15% leak down on 3 cylinders. Tires appear old. And other less serious things. Honestly, I was surprised when the bid hit $60k. Anyway, it took the pole. Now we have to see who actually wins the race. All other things equal the F1 B appears to be a much better car.
Yes they are….. sellers remorse [emoji51] Make more money I suppose and see what is fun in 2022 [emoji41] Maybe my ship comes in and I can buy manual 430 [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m feelin’ the idea of red floor mats in the Issimi car. Not those mats in particular but the color contrast. Image Unavailable, Please Login Not sure if what I’m about to tell you is gonna make you feel any better or not. I just drove my buddy’s 95 B for about 45 min on the hwy. Fabspeed headers, FULL decat, Capristo bypass, Capristo 3 muffler. It was my first time driving a 355 with Fabspeed headers + Capristo muffler combo. The sound wasn’t even close to my standards. The Fabspeed headers REALLY killed the F1 sound. I knew it was bad from forum feedback (corroborated by vids), but I didn’t know it was that bad. I can see why some people say the Nouvalari exhaust sounds better than Capristo (if paired up with Fabspeed headers) because I didn’t get much out of the Capristo other than a snippet at the last 1000 RPM. There’s a whole spectrum or TWO of F1 sound/scream completely missing. No pops and gurgles either. Low/mid range power missing as well. You need a RE-DO with a 2.7 355 with Tubi headers. You only got 1/4 of the sound brotha. The 355 is where it’s at. See you back in the brotherhood in 2022 .
Yeah personally fabspeed headers aren't even in the running for me. They kill the best part of the 355...the high pitch. A local guy had a full fabspeed setup and honestly...it sounded terrible IMO.
Funny…. 3 of my cars had Fabspeed, one had Tubi. I did not like the Tubi [emoji2369]. One had Stock headers with a Tubi muffler and that was pretty good. I have owned 5 of these cars now and the best sound was the 1996 GTS with Fabspeed and Capristo 2, to my ears, with top off. The Tubi car really never screamed to me. I guess I need to drive all of them back to back. Or maybe I need to respect John more and keep is stock and below 6000 [emoji39]; us old guys should have taken better care of our ears [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Part of me wants to swap on a capristo. Then the other part of me notes a mild ear ringing that results after an hour of spirited top down driving with the stock can.
Sorry, all Tubi. Headers and muffler assembly. 1 - Fabspeed, Capristo, useless small cats - favorite sound 1 - Factory Headers, Tubi exhaust cats? 1 - Tubi Headers Tubi Exhaust cats? - least favorite 1 - Fabspeed and factory original cats 1 - Fabspeed, Capristo 3, test pipe and Forza valve - 2.7 car - just sold. My experience 1 - Factory Headers, Tubi exhaust, Nouvalari cats. 2 - Factory Headers, Factory exhaust, Nouvalari cats. 3 - Tubi Headers Tubi Exhaust, Nouvalari cats. I won't say which I prefer but 1 was definitely had the highest pitch and was loudest. 2 was, as expected, quietest. 3 is similar to 1 but lower pitched and very mellow at idle and lower RPM.
Since we have moved to exhaust.....on my 96 spider I had Tubi headers and exhaust. Too loud for me. Went with free flowing cats and added a stock muffler and I like it better. As for the sales, a high mileage (72K) spider just sold on BAT for 70k. I thought that was a pretty strong price. I may do a major this winter and put mine up for sale in the spring
There's no shortage of Spider's to choose from on the US market right now. I count 25 of them at a quick glance. 2 Challenge cars. 2 Berlinettas (1 yellow F1, and one red manual that I'm pretty sure is sold).
