Well, because I have more than a few screws loose, I decided to purchase a new set of wheels as an alternative to my perfectly good Compomotive TSs. I wanted something a little more subtle and OEM+ looking than the Compomotives, and I've always loved the old-school coffin spokes on 3x8s. So I ordered a set of NTM LS wheels. NTM is an Italian company that makes some really beautiful wheels.

The specs are 17" x 8" front (ET 12) and 17" x 9" rear (ET 5). They are fully forged and ridiculously light (much lighter than the equivalent-sized Compomotives). I also added some titanium bolts while I was at it. Here are a few photos that my son took during a recent photo shoot.

(The eagle-eyed among you will also notice that I've replaced the OEM flag-style side mirrors with Vitaloni Californians, a seamless swap thanks to custom adapters designed by Fchat member T Hoke. A major aesthetic improvement IMO....)

The more I look at them , the more I like them, I also have the 17 inch Compomotives for my 89 GTS. along with another set of 17s that were on the car when I bought it 22 years ago. Im running 255 45 17 s in the rear, and 235 45 17s in the front, which i will swap to 245s at some point at the front .

    Thank you

Wow, those look amazing! They are very OEM in appearance, as if they would have been an option when the car was new. I have always thought of putting these on my 308 in gold, however, after seeing these, I think that they look better in silver.

Tire sizes are 225/45 17 front and 245/45 17 rear.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for.

Thank you! Tire sizes are 225/45 17 front and 245/45 17 rear. No issues with rubbing. Suspension is not stock - the car is lowered on QA1 coil overs.

Are the California mirrors useful at all? I dislike the flags on mine, but at least I can see well enough out of them.

    The wheels look incredible.

Did you order them directly from NTM or through a dealer?

The Vitalonis are not as useful as the OEM flags, but they work just fine. I would say they are "good enough." I have read prior threads about them being essentially useless, but there are a couple of things I did to be sure they worked better. First, I did order a convex mirror on the passenger side (non-convex on driver's side), which helps. Second, and more importantly, Tom Hoke designed the fixed mounts to be the proper angle to maximize visibility. We went through a couple of iterations before we got it right....

I ordered them through NTM's US distributor Matt Leavitt at Alfa 9 Supply, and I can't recommend him highly enough. He was super responsive and very helpful, and eliminated a lot of my hesitation in dealing with a smaller (especially Italian! :)) overseas company.

I purchased the titanium bolts separately, from Acer Racing in California. My specifications are: M14x1.5, cone seat with torx head and a 35mm shaft length (I believe a custom order).

    I LOVE it! Great job.
What year is your 328? ABS concerns? As for the coilovers, I was not able to find any for my 89 328. Suggestions are welcomed. :)

    Thanks! My 328 is an '87, non-ABS.

Not sure about coilovers for an '89. I got my through Nick's Forza Ferrari and he doesn't list any coilover application for the '89 model year. It would probably be worth a call to Nick to see what he recommends.

There are no coil overs for 89 s , I asked many years ago, Im lucky I found a custom set of Compomotives specifically made for an 89 , I think I own the only set made. Dont lower the car, with 17s you can go 255 s in the rear, and 245s in the front, you will have grip beyond belief, thats if one can find 17s for an 89 328 .

    Thank you

You can get your Konis rebuilt to units that have some adjustability to them, mine are all brand new stock OEM Konis, my originals lasted 100 k miles, and were still performing so good, that I really did not feel much of a difference from new, the big difference was from replacing the motor mounts. The space between the OP GTBs wheel to fender is almost exactly what the space is on my 89 328, the OPs GTB is a bit lower to the pavement, looks great, but more prone to scraping, and center punching. Hopefully that company can make a set for an 89, his car has a fantastic look and set up, I like it as much as my car, and I thought pretty highly of my set up .

    Thank you

you can actually go wider on the rear, this what’s on my 17” right now and my car is lowered without any problem with clearance
    Front 8” wide 225/45/17”
    Rear 9” wide 255/40/17

Sorry - Not a fan of the look (Not that it should matter to anyone ;))

The 70's-esque wheels and mirrors seem at odds to me with the 328's late 80's softer edge design for the front and rear bumpers.

On a 308 GTB/GTS, with their sharper edges on the front and rear ends, I think they would look superb (think I'd have to have gold coffin spoke wheels though)

It's the OP's car though, and so long as they like it, that's all that really matters :)
