they got it wrong, but they were counting on Max losing tires at a higher level than he did. If Merc pitted after Max on the second stint, they would have still been behind, he had two really great outlaws following the pit. They figured RBR had better pace, but could fall to degradation.

great drive by both, but hats off to Max for keeping something in the tank to counter Merc’s gamble.

Darn shame Leclerc's fantastic drives sometimes don't get the recognition they deserve. He put 25+ seconds over McLaren and finished like 7-8 sec off red bull.
