Thanks. I thought it might be Nye’s Ferrari book. I wouldn’t mind seeing that one going to Palawan.

I think you’re confusing Veloce with Evro.

If all good titles go to Palawan, I will end up in the poor house!

I'm going to be controversial here - I don't see the point of books like these. These general books about Ferrari are 2 a penny. What do books like these add to our knowledge, compared to 250 GTO or GTO 64 or Breadvan for example?

It shows Robert Brooks, a defining professional and character in the classic car auction world and founder of the eponymous auction company which later became one with Bonhams. He just recently passed away.

It is a fitting tribute, RIP Robert.

Deserving of a tribute indeed, I just have an irrational hatred of car books/magazines etc with no car on the cover. Each to their own!

But you're not the intended audience. I can't comment specifically on this book since I haven't yet seen it but I do suggest that the first car or Ferrari book you owned was not very likely to be anything along the lines of those you mention. My first Ferrari book was one of Godfrey Eaton's which fulfilled a similar role to that I imagine Ferrari 75 will do. In other words, it gave you a bit of an overview of a lot of Ferraris and served as a kind of primer to lead you onto other books (lots of other books in my case). You might reasonably say that there are plenty of other books that do a similar job but there is a much bigger market for a general book on Ferraris than there is for detailed books about a single car or model.

Maybe. Although I suspect if you want to actually make money from writing books you need to be writing about romance, crime or boy wizards rather than cars!!

I have a feeling that the next Palawan might be on Alpine. Could be interesting if that is the case.

Funny, that was exactly how I started when my parents bought me the thin hard-covered Godfrey Eaton Ferrari book. I read it cover to cover many times over.

Nathan if you want to make real money I think you should write a 50 Shades of Grey style of book on the erotic and kinky acts behind a closed garage door between a man and his Ferrari.

Stripping, polishing, waxing, leather, rubber, etc .... :)

But, only if it is also a "limited" numbered edition, with "premium" leather binding, and "exclusive" collector's edition only extras. All available for just a brief period of time with "special" (outrageously high) pricing.;)

The market for high-end car/Ferrari books is doomed ;)
