My car recently went 10R and has a VIN. Curious what others have observed with current schedules related to their spider builds? FWIW, my car has the AF and is done in the launch color. Oh, and I’m in the U.S.

PS - I also have Portofino M that’s been sitting at 10G for a while. Thus, I’m curious about any intel on how those builds are flowing? TIA.

Hi, GQ -- I have an order that just went 10R and VIN showed up on the app this past Saturday (albeit on an F8 Tributo). This is only my first Ferrari order, so I'd also love to get a clearer sense of the timeline from here (dealer indicated production slot in Jan, though I think it might be tracking ahead of that).

I recognize your handle from the CF, as I think we've both had a few Vettes over the years. Would be interesting to compare notes someday. I'd send a PM, but I don't have enough posts here on FChat to sit at the big kids table yet... : )

In my experience, builds can sit 10R for a varied amount of time. There doesn’t seem to be a concrete time frame once a car is 10R as it can vary per model, production schedule, if you fall around August holiday, current supply chain slow downs, and of course extracampionario requests. Special request paint colors will add to the production time.

Indeed, I’ve had quite a number of vettes and spent time on CF. In fact, a friend owns the Chevy dealership near me and has always offered me first allocations. Thus, I’m trying to decide whether I have room in my garage for a Z06?! My gut tells me to pass as I probably wouldn’t drive it much, but I might order one just to ensure I always stay at the top of the list.

You're going to really enjoy the F8. I’ve got about 3,500 miles on mine, and it’s been fantastic!

Update: After just a few weeks at 10R, my spider is at stage 30. An encouraging sign, given supply chain and labor issues plaguing many parts of the world.

A guy in Washington DC got his Spider delivered over a month ago.

Some of the updates through the system I’ve heard have had glitches. Cars showing one status then are updated and have skipped a few stages. Heard of another car that was sitting in the same status and then was update that it was being delivered to the dealership. Definitely some oddities occurring with the updates.

Took over a month, but my order just moved from 30 to 40 recently. Dealer feels it took that long due to the multilayer Giallo Montecarlo paint. Certainly seems reasonable. When asked if he’d heard rumors about the order window closing at the end of the month, he said “We were told they’re evaluating things.” I suppose that’s code for let’s see where current interest is before deciding.

My dealer called me and said my car was “in production” now and I should have it in about 3 months. My spider was the second allocation the dealer received so it seems these are moving along somewhat.
