Mexico 2021 Pre-Race Thread

I predict all Max and Perez all the time. A podium for Gasly lol.

Bottas will take 2 new engines to make it through Prac and Qualy lol

 

Absolutely puzzle it is. No major stories are out on the cause as well. Is quite strange.

 

Poor Bottas.... He's just a Merc play toy thing.

 

Could Lewis take a new engine here?

Valtteri Bottas hopes he can get to the end of the season without further engine penalties, as Mercedes hasn't detected any issues with his remaining two Formula 1 power units.

 

Just to confirm, those changed engines are absolutely not transferrable to a teammate, right? No accidental mislabeling/misallocations?

Lewis starts from the back, Bottas dutifully takes out Max, Checo overdoes it and stacks it in front of the home crowd, Chuck and Carlos take a 1-2.
Works for me.

 

So that's the only way to get a Ferrari 1-2

Ah yes, F1 saving the planet.

I really hate this section of the track.

 

The fast curve it replaces was wonderful I recall the overtake Manselll Berger there one passing the other on the outside but there was no room for runoff, there is a public avenue right beyond so they had to do that most Mickey Mousey ever bit...in a stadium argh...

 

Amazing that there are almost two weeks to transport all that stuff from Austin to Mex City (barely a 2,5h flight) but less than a week to transport it from Mex City to Sao Paulo (~10 hours).

 

Maybe they are using Bottas' engines to discover the very extreme reliability limit of the engine and unleash this limit to Hamilton in the last races...???

 

...and a 13.30 hour flight from Sao Paulo to Doha, Quatar to end the triple header...

 

Agreed on both. All those hybrid F1 engines' work undone by jacking the lot into a fleet of 747's. So long they bring the message...right? Force teams to run hybrid/electric trucks instead. Will make much bigger change...

The stadium section utterly takes the wonderful flow this track has away. It's so awkward. Is it an actual stadium outside of F1? If not can't they have a banked corner in there?

 

The famous"Peraltada"...what a race that was in 1990, with Prost winning after starting from 13 on the grid i think...That 641/2 was one of my all time favourite f.1 cars, what a beauty...and what a chassis!

 

Yep and the funny thing was I was watching it in France with a gf who said she did not like Prost..and Alain later called that THE race win of his career; she was sulking at the end
