You have to love a bit of Ferrari spin, more like " get those healthy deposits into our bank account as early as possible"!

More likely is the looming threat of Euro 7 vehicle emission standards. Also the continuing challenges in every form to actually building cars in a timely fashion. Not to mention keeping the exclusive and specially talented group of workers busy who actually assemble the 'special project' cars...

The report says that the release would only be in 2022, and it was anticipated, will be released this month.

Isn't it a "customer need" that Ferrari hurries with the presentation in order to comply with the legal requirements of delivering the car?

Please confirm, are you saying the Monza is currently street legal in the US?

Yes under the American 'Show and Display' exemption. All this once your Ferrari dealership gets a payment of $60,000 for certain modifications that the government accepts as conforming. The modifications have not been detailed publicly yet, that I have seen.

At the time I had inquired with Ferrari, there was no possibility of a show or display registration in the USA (which as you note required modifications to the car) and no plans to create one. It would have been useful information to have at the time, as S&D has substantial limitations but at least allows the car to be driven on public roads...

The kit costs a little more than that and may take 18 months to get, not sure if just ordering the kit satisfies the requirement or you have to actually have it installed. Sales of the Monza are rare and it is hard to find a market price, do you have any completed US sales prices? Thanks

I’m confirmed for a kit and the price I was told was $60k. No mention of timing but that there are no visible modifications to the car.

You may have been told 18 months because to qualify for show and display, the car has to be out of production and they’re not done building them yet. Maybe the 18 months is the time require for approval (though that’s just a guess on my part)

Was it Ron Tonkin Ferrari that had a Monza for sale in the past? As I recall it sold quickly but no price was quoted. A pure guess would be double MSRP?
120 Monza versions for the USA???

So if I followed everything correctly, the "Private" unveiling is scheduled for November 15th and the "Public" unveiling will be on the 21st?

That means only 10 days to wait for the (very lucky) clients and 16 for a poor mortal like me.

The wait will be very long, or maybe a "Leak" will shorten this wait.

    ^^

Somebody told me who had one that one was going for $3.6 million, but that is not confirmed, though probably accurate. That would be an 80% increase over $2.0 million.

Sorry to bring this up again, but why isn't there a separate selection for the Icona Collection on the forum?

I don't know if the moderators have expressed their opinion on this subject, so sorry in advance if an explanation has already been given.

But now that the new Icona is officially confirmed we could at least rename this topic.

I can’t remember if, this Icona 2, we have already played the game of the « guess its name ». What are your thoughts on the name?

I think it will be hard to find.... if the new Icona is indeed a 330 P4 inspiration I imagine there will be a tribute in the names.

Moreover it seems to me that the Monza SP1 and SP2 were inspired by several Ferraris, not just one.

I don't really have a guess at the moment, do you?

    Very hard to find indeed.
The Monza SP was inspired from several models sharing the same type of body and style and spirit, but of course the Monza SP was not a restomod of a 750 Monza.

Considering the same pattern, the new Icona 2 being inspired from the P series, it could receive a name such as P3 SP, P4 SP…

If we look at the engine volume, it’s a 6496cm3 engine, then the cylinder volume is 541cm3… oh, doesn’t it remind you something?

What is the Ferrari 541 MM?

Considering the spyshots it seems very likely that there is an inspiration on the P series.

We also know that it uses the LaFerrari Aperta platform, so we can reasonably assume that it will be a kind of Aperta/Barchetta (no roof), the 330 P4 seems to me to be the "main" inspiration but of course I may be completely off.

For the "Ferrari 541 MM" it's a good guess but i think they will use a "P" in the name for this Icona or Only a "Real" name like the Monza (No number).

It's very hard to guess maybe are dear @day355 or Mr @Marcel Massini can help a bit.

My only guess is Daytona, to celebrate the 1-2-3 finish in 1967 of their main source of inspiration, the P3/P4.

The first Icona model was based on an existing platform (812), and we typically divide sections based on era/platform and not lineage. Same reason not all mid-V8s are together. When the new Icona is annouced, we will most likely move this thread to the model it shares a platform with

If the platform isn't clearly shared with another FCar, then we can possibly discuss an Icona specific forum
