This was on a test drive?

 

Hope it was insured for agreed value. Not sure insurance pays market value unless

Car > driver

 

Driver was injured and undergoing back surgery. Daughter was ok. Sending prayers.

 

Wonder if it was a test drive or the owner/employee of the dealership. Hope everyone is ok as well, just a car.

 

Prayers for a speedy recovery.

 

Of course, we all wish the driver and passenger well, but I'm sorry, "IF" he was speeding with his daughter in the car, I am inclined to instinctively call him some unflattering names; "reckless" being the LEAST offensive!
That being said, I still wish for their good health.

Can't tell from the photos if this inexperienced driver was done in by curve or curb.

 

I get the daughter thing - maybe she was 30 and was the one driving, or 10 in the passenger seat, who knows. They are both ok and seemingly no one else involved. Cars can be replaced. We are not immune to mistakes or bad decisions.

 

That car can take a turn like nothing else, and it holds its line. Cold day it’ll spin all 4 in 3rd - ask me how I know.

 

And he managed to damage all four sides of the car.

 

Whatever the case, he chose to operate the car outside of the substantial performance envelope and nanny stability systems.

 

The owner is Robert Drenk. He made a post in his Instagram story about the incident. He was driving and his daughter who was the passenger is fairly young. Teens or pre-teens. She was fine. He posted a picture of his ankle and said it was shattered, but didn't mention any other injuries.

 

Personally, I'm thinking he was done in by the gas pedal

Did he explain what happened?

 

I will withhold any judgements until I see how the accident occurred.

 

I wonder what they will get for salvage. Maybe the engine and gearbox are saleable with a complete inspection? The rest could probably be put into a car crusher - then throw a thick piece of plexi on the top to make a real conversation piece coffee table., like this one:

I want the carbon rims.

 

Those seem to have survived the impact(s) quite well considering how fragile/brittle they’re supposed to be, especially if a curb was involved.

Then again they may have developed some hairline cracks and are scrap.

 

He seems to have plenty of experience with fast cars, I just hope it wasn't the actions of a poor decision that resulted in the accident which could have severely injured his daughter and himself. speedy healing

 

I would make them end tables for my garage lounge
