I really struggle how hamilton could potentially be excused
I stand corrected. Apparently there is video of Max touching the rear wing and that IS reportedly part of the investigation delay. this year gets stranger by the day. Wow….
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Vettel frequently touched mercs car and others. Never so much as a telling off.
I'm certain he was investigating what RBR suspected, but why touch the car? Stay as far away from it as you can so there is no such accusation.
I mean last I checked Max wasn't world's strongest man and even he'd struggle break mercs rear wing by simply touching it.
The FIA need to conjure up some excuses for them to help MB/Hammy hence the delay until tomorrow. Nothing shocks me with this lot.
No f’in way this is possible. If this isn’t proof positive Wolff is intimidating the officials, I don’t know what is.
If max can "break" mercs rear wing that has to continuously withstand over 1500kg of force, I finally know where his nickname supermax comes from Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe Merc did raise the issue of Max touching the car and so FIA have to show they’re doing something and maybe reprimand Max. The rule about not touching a car in parc fermé is to stop teams from changing things on their own car, not about poking at a car, your own or a competitor’s car. Drivers touch (and kiss even) their own cars all the time in parc fermé. Hopefully this Max thing doesn’t distract from the real infringement of the rules that is the Merc wing.
https://streamable.com/g0yst7 I mean the force exerted on this rear is incredible. I'm surprised thr merc wasn't totalled. I'd request a new chassis as well
Verstappen summoned after spotted touching Hamilton’s W12 https://www.planetf1.com/news/max-verstappen-spotted-touching-lewis-hamilton-mercedes/ Date published: November 13 2021 - Henry Valantine A video circulating on social media appeared to show Max Verstappen touching the rear wing of Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes – and he subsequently received a summons from the FIA. The video shows Verstappen climbing out of his car in parc ferme, checking his own rear wing flaps before moving over to the car of his title rival and seemingly comparing the two. Mercedes remain under investigation by the FIA having been accused of contravening rules surrounding how far rear wings are allowed to open with DRS, with an 85mm limit – which the stewards believe Mercedes exceeded during qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Hamilton’s car. You can see the clip of Verstappen by watching below: Such an infringement would usually result in disqualification from the session, but almost four hours after Mercedes had been asked to report to the stewards, they adjourned the case against them until Saturday morning in Brazil as the FIA required more evidence to be able to reach an informed verdict. Whether or not Mercedes have grounds to appeal against any accusation remains to be seen, but if Verstappen is found to have touched another car under parc ferme conditions, he can expect a punishment of his own, as this is strictly forbidden. This could also form a part of Mercedes’ defence, as they could have reason to claim that the Red Bull driver tampered with their car – especially pertinent, considering the area he appeared to touch is the one under investigation by the FIA. The FIA issued a summons which stated: ‘Max Verstappen and team representative are required to report to the Stewards at 9:30 on Saturday 13 November in relation to the incident below. ‘Alleged breach of Article 2.5.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code.’ Article 2.5.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code states: ‘Inside the Parc Fermé, only the officials assigned may enter. No operation, checking, tuning or repair is allowed unless authorised by the same officials or by the applicable regulations.’
Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen inspected the rear wing of his title rival Lewis Hamilton immediately after qualifying for the sprint race in Brazil. On Friday evening it was announced that Red Bull had approached the FIA about a possible illegal wing for Mercedes. The team would have filed a protest prior to qualifying. This would also explain why Verstappen is comparing the wings so intently.
I know max couldn’t physically do anything to the rear wing but why effing touch it when you know you’re team is going to protest it? Red Bull not dotting I’s and crossing t’s.
All the drivers really should properly read the FIA rules. There are not many other books they need to read for this job. Also the teams should remind them once in a while. The engineers are doing their best to make the car 0.1 sec faster while the drivers make mistakes that can be easily avoided...
Max getting exluded would be ridiculous. We've had years of drivers touching competitors cars and never once a peep from the FIA. Toto & Co are laughable losers. Spend years trying to convince the world ehat they really want is a fight, but the moment they have one on their hands they break out their arsenal of excuses and team of lawyers to slow down the competition any way possible. The fact that the FIA is even entertaining this shows how ridiculous the sport has become. Imagine showing someone the quali yesterday and then explaininf why lightly touching a car could result in any sort of penalty? If max gets anything more than a reprimand/fine this team will officially become the most mickey mouse series since 1928
Mercedes does never cheat! When you will finally accept it ? https://www.carscoops.com/2021/11/mercedes-accused-of-diesel-emissions-cheating-again-actual-figures-allegedly-five-times-higher-than-reported/
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Looks like max was simply measuring the gap with his finger. If merc still claims that max broke their wing they should be punished for being misleading, instigating **** heads
It would be a shame if technicalities determined the race. Stewards need to think very carefully before handing out season defining penalties irrelevantly.
