As I wrote already, the parc fermé rules were put in place to preclude changes to the car by a team either to change its settings or affect inspection after an event. As such, a driver shouldn’t then be allowed to touch even his own car. So how do you enforce that, FIA?
Seriously that there are people who think that Max should be punished?!? Looks like RBR engineers noticed that HAM had a bigger DRS gap than normal, and probably instructed Max to check it: “use four fingers to compare the gap between your wing and his”. A technical infringement is punishable MUCH MORE hardly than the simple sport infringement of touching a car at parc ferme. It was a smart trade-off by Max and RBR.
Rumour going round that max did actually simply move something on the merc, a simple position movement that allows the wing to open greater than fia allows... So merc may have implemented this and the moment they get out the car they switch it by hand so the car is deemed legal during tests. Now this is just a rumour, not fact...but if true, and the stack of papers red Bull provided yesterday could be a BIG thing.
Max may have screwed the pooch. https://www.planetf1.com/news/max-verstappen-spotted-touching-lewis-hamilton-mercedes/
So Max’s meeting with the stewards would have gone something like this: Stewards: “Max, did you touch the rear wing on HAM’s car?” Max: “Actually, I not only touched it but I defeated the reset feature that allows the DRS to return to its “inspection” setting so it passes inspection. After which it failed your inspection.” Stewards: “Max, you know you’re not allowed to touch HAM’s car. We will deliberate some more with Toto and you can expect some punishment.”
That could explain why they impounded the wing, maybe. They maybe though they found some loopholes like their stupid DAS system of last year.
For anyone that doesn't know, things may not move without the use of tools. Proper ****ery if they do that.
Actually I didn’t say that. Common sense should prevail here knowing he couldn’t have moved anything in the videos we saw. I was simply saying that the team had already protested so why touch the car? You’re opening yourself up for exactly what’s going on now. Don’t put it in the fia hands to have to do something to you for touching it or more importantly, not do anything to merc.
And Mercedes will then have to a admit they have a proper cheating device on their car. Toto might be busy selling his shares of all this is true.
Delay in rendering a decision is to allow Autosport and Sky time to create a robust defence narrative, I suppose, yes? They need to find a way to link this to Ferrari somehow.
The rules for Parc Ferme' are clear. Drivers not authorized to TOUCH other cars. Hence he is called to the Stewards. The rules are listed and numbered. Smart? No its clear in the rules you do not touch other competitors cars. Placing one in jeopardy at this point the season is literally STUPID. Max needed to walk on and let the FIA sort the Mercedes. His team filed a protest. His management does not need his help. Period.
Your post is really in poor taste. Scumbag............pathetic choice of words. Grow up. Needless this post is. Wow he is wearing clothes. World turns.
Do we know what time an announcement will be coming, ie, when the FIA apologizes to MB/Ham and bans Max?
