Update: Still waiting on permits- have interviewed 2 other builders after our bid came in 40% over budget from original builder. Everything is more expensive but time to do more shopping.
BTW - hope to see it the next time Jen & I hike Camelback after a night at “City Hall” - I almost died - lol MDS
Update- narrowing in on a builder. I think we found a great guy. Permits should be in hand in next 2-4 weeks. Hoping to break ground by October.
Good luck on the build! I know things are a bit crazy right now in all aspects of building and dealing with the city for permits. We are closing a deal on a lot in Cave creek and pima area and are getting started on plans for new house now. Hoping to have it done by end of next year. Good thing is we only have to deal with the county and not the city.
Finally!!! The city has approved and given us the permits to start digging! They have been sitting on the paperwork for weeks if not months and finally someone decided to look and realized they have everything they need. Shovels in the ground in the next week or so. So excited!!
I just realized that I never posted the pics of the house. Here are renderings (more than just the garage) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Damn, that's what you call downsizing? Looks awesome. Hoping for a smooth ride from now on. Contractors can be annoying to deal with and sure like to test your patience.
Downsizing is probably not the right term. We are Redistributing Space. Fewer bedrooms but big ass office/man cave for me. Wife has her own special places in the house. As far as contractor- we have a good one. A really good one. Weve done this before but this one I’m the most excited for.
Just finishing up my garage now. It's a remodel of an existing detached guest house and carport in a 1960s mid-century modern post and beam house. Inside the garage I went with Barrisol lights, like in the car dealerships. If you really want to showcase the cars you want these lights. Every other option leaves hot spots on the cars. Mine won't be installed for a couple more months. Before: Image Unavailable, Please Login Status a few weeks ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login Barrisol Lights: Image Unavailable, Please Login
We are hoping to see some progress photos once you get to the building phase. Will be interesting to see how everything takes shape slowly. Demanding but rewarding process!
I would be happy and honored to share. Next week they drop off all the equipment to start grading. That will likely take 4-6 months to get the pad done as well as all the retaining walls. I’ll post photos. 2-3 year project.
And so it begins. Heavy equipment moving dirt last couple of days. The beginnings of the driveway. Second pic is the view from the bottom of the driveway. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
