I don't know where you get your numbers from (I believe you believe them), but again, Lewis did not blow by anybody by 20 mph. 305 kph = 189.5 mph, 33 kph = 20.5 mph.
Onboards. I don't care if you believe it or not. Unless you think the onboard speeds are wrong? And everyone's eyes are deceiving us and that Mercedes didn't approach anyone at warp speed Believe what you want, I was born with the blessing of sight. My eyes saw a much higher top speed of the merc, and even if the numbers are not quite accurate from the Onboards, it sure looked Miles faster when he was approaching
I must admit, I have doubts on those. No car that much faster would have stayed so many laps behind in my understanding Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I watched the race highlights as I opted to watch a terrible NFL game during the same time. How did Max at least not go under investigation when he and Lewis went way off track limits (I'm assuming there were track limits this race?)? He wasn't on the racing line at all and looked to go out outside line to block and kept going even off track...
As I said, I'm sure you trust whatever/wherever you got those numbers. (Strange how they changed by 21% from post to post, 33 to 40, tho'...... ) Me? I too trust my eyes, 'have been around cars and racing for 60+ years, and know what a 20 mph pass looks like. I don't need "numbers" to see that. I watched the whole race today and did not see it happen. (Oh wait.....yes I did.....when someone was in their pit or had an off..... ) No mas.
Seeing as you know what a 20mph pss looks like, we're on the same page then, as that was what is was.
What I find funny, when ferrari had a rocket engine everyone was questioning it and fia bend over backwards to get it banned. No noise at all now. Red Bull does quick pitstops and fia dreams up a new rule changing the way pitstops go. What a load of **** this championship is.
I see. A conspiracy, eh? Yabba dabba dabba doo....... Now I await the numbers to change again.... Shall we go a 50 kph pass? How about 60 kph?
I think you are being a bit harsh this weekend. Rbr seemed to have lost fair and square Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I love reading all the UK publications. “Lewis Hamilton new engine had little to do with his performance” …. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I tend to agree, but not on the same basis. Lewis' huge top speed advantage is more down to drag than it is power. Sure the Mercedes have enjoyed a stronger engine all season, just as they have since 2014. Having a brand new engine is worth some power for sure, but it isn't worth the power that would give the car an extra 10+ kph. We aren't talking about 5, 10, 15 horsepower here. If his speed advantage was because of power, considering he had the high downforce wing package, we'd be talking about 50-100 horsepower difference. Based on Red Bull's comments about finding something with the Mercedes rear wing, I think they have a very clever system that has dramatically reduced the drag at high speed. Of course having the best engine, and a brand new one at that, certainly didn't hurt.
I know that the engine rules apply to everyone, but I don't understand the logic: a 4th engine gives 10 places penalty and after that only 5 places penalty per engine? I would think the penalty should increase, not decrease...
Not the result I was hoping for today...but I honestly feel the today Lewis out drove Max and Mercedes had a better car than RB. If Max and RB have a comeback, they'd better show it at the next race. Max has kept his lead with now 14 points over Lewis and 3 races left to close the deal for his first WDC. But after today I think Lewis has the psychological edge over Max...and Mercedes has the performance edge over RB. Now is the time when the lesser team starts making stupid mistakes...like Max weaving down the straight...pure panic. All the other teams are just squabbling over scraps.
RBR didn't have the pace, that's fair enough. However, I'm questioning the engine. With a smaller advantage in 2019, ferrari was questioned by Mercedes and other constabtly. How Mercedes have suddenly gained a huge amount of power is beyond me. These are top speeds between max and lewis, both drs assisted. In the sprint race Lewis recorded a top speed of 348, compared to a top speed for bottas of 308 (no drs). Without drs Lewis was constantly over 320. Bottas engine was brand new in Austin. It only did 1 race. So yes excuse me for thinking something fishy is going on. Lewis is good but he's not finding cazy top speed good. This isn't Hollywood... Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can be sure that Horner will be straight onto FIA if there is even a 1% chance of Merc cheating. That’ll tell you all you need to know.
