I took the CAT off and replaced it with a true pipe that has a hole for the CO2 Sensor can I just unplug it or leave it plugged in?

I too have have a true pipe with a hole for o2 sensor but instead of plugging the hole I just installed the O2 sensor to plug the hole but I didn’t connect the wire for the O2 sensor, so it kind of like running in an open loop.

To be honest with you, I don’t think I noticed any difference specially in performance but then, each car is different, why don’t you try it and see if you can tell any difference in your car. Also, if your true pipe has the hole for the thermocouple, that one you can plug and tuck your thermocouple away.

I bought a Larini test pipe several years ago for 185.00, Wouldnt that be the way to go for you ? It has the fitting for the sensor, its premium quality.

    Thank you ,

If your car ran well with its O2 sensor, then install it on the test pipe and reconnect it. It will provide information to the cars computer, and optimize power and fuel economy (and emissions). The car can run very clean even without the cat if it is in good shape.
