Agree with what you wrote...but i don't thinks it's that much fun overtaking everyone with a much faster car and with DRS, simply because there is no way the other driver can defend his position, i just don't see that much skill envolved, being elton or any other driver, hence my post about Michael who was able to do a lot more without atificial help..
But you need a lot more to keep elton with that engine behind for so many laps! IMO Verstapen did something far more impressive and difficult in Brazil than elton...but i see races in a different way than most i guess....
Real F1 drivers praise Hamilton's driving in Brazil. I'll say it. LCH is better than MS. Not even in the same ball park. Always have, always will. No doubt Michael was (hopefully still is) an outstanding human being away from the track, and without a doubt an amazing talent. But no amount of wins and WDC's can make up for his appalling lack of sportsmanship time and time again throughout his whole career. I wasn't impressed with Max V when he started either, a hot headed brat who was always in trouble, but refusing to own up to it, all the while pointing the finger elsewhere. But to be fair, he does seem to be maturing into a better driver. I think a lot of his current rhetoric is forced from the horrible pink cow management, but he's shown he can have a conscience and concede. MS started off his WDC tally with a cheater car, and still had to punt off his main rival to win, correction, be crowned the Champ. Then there was the shunt Villeneuve off stunt. The '**** the team, screw helping my team mate, I'll pretend to still be too injured to drive as theirs nothing in it for me'. If he'd matured and showed some contrition for earlier behavior I could have forgiven him, but it never stopped. Let's crash to end qualifying, let's try and drive Rubens into the wall etc. He was still the dirty driver at 43 as he had been at 25. He was a nasty, dirty, driver who never earned real respect. Same for Senna, arguably the best natural talent ever seen. Doesn't count, as just like M.S. they were both dirty dangerous drivers. With both of them their behavior prevents them from ever being considered the GOAT. LCH, Max in a few years, Prost, Lauda, Stewart, Clarke, Fangio etc. All those are worthy of discussion as GOAT, which is an impossible thing to define given how the sport, circuits and most importantly cars have changed over the years, but Schumacher and Senna will never get close to even the top ten. I know it's not a popular opinion, especially here, but I know I'm far from the only one to believe it. Oh, and as for this year, I really don't care who wins, it's been the best race to the title in years. On one hand I'd love to see LCH get #8 just to put him past MS, on the other, it's great to see another driver and team who've been working hard to improve for years prevail and topple the top dogs. It'll be good for the sport either way, I just want good racing until the end. If Max wins I just wish it was in any other car than RB. Oh, and I'm thoroughly sick and tired of Horner, Marko and Toto. I think F1 would be a far better place if broadcasting or reporting a word any of them said was banned.
Respectable opinions. For me senna is by far the best. Never see such excellence in Bad cars. Lewis, although someone I support, never ever faced great adversity in f1. Always had a decent or Great car doesn’t take away his case for goat you mentioned… just not mine. Agreed on all you said about max too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lewis Hamilton is the figurehead of the Mercedes team, which is a sad parody of what F1 means to me, and what it used to be. He could barely beat his teammates, and any passable F1 driver would have had the same record as his. His #2 driver would have walked away with the championship in every single year he won it. Hell, Nico beat him straight up when Lewis was in his prime and Jensen outscored him in multiple seasons! The Mercedes team is the true GOAT. Lewis is but a passenger, and has a **** attitude/ego on top of that.
Not agree on everything but I have to say this is a very respectable opinion about top drivers in general.
If I spoke my mind about you, even on my thread, I’d be long gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree on most. You are not alone in your assesment. Many of Schumacher ex teammates agree with you that Lewis is in some ways better. Its Impossible to really determine who's goat. Lewis, Schumi and others you mentioned are among the greatest in my book.
Alot of false information here. 1. Lewis has had many team mates, but aside from Alonso only he is multiple champion. 2. Jenson only outscored him 1 season. 3. #2 driver Heikki Kovalainen, finished 7th 2008, Bottas finished 3rd and 5th in 2017&18 Senna, Prost barely beat each other as team mates. Are they lesser to you?
Weak. Jensen scored more points than Sir Lewis over the three years they were teammates. The #2 drivers would have had Lewis' points during those seasons had the team (and Lewis, with all his tantrums) allowed it. No, they are not. You're arguing against yourself. Lewis Hamilton is the luckiest man in F1 history, coddled by the most dominant team in every area the sport has ever seen. If he weren't such a petulant **** about it, we'd love him.
Lewis beat Jenson 2 seasons to one. 2 is greater than one. You can't use points over a season. A driver can't use yast years points for the following year. Hamilton outscored Rosberg over 4 years, but you mention Rosberg beating him lol, and you say i'm arguing against myself lol. Every champion has had #2 drivers that were not "allowed" certain priviledges. Thats why they are #2. Do you not know that is old policy in F1?
Oh, wow! You know what, you're right! Lewis is a truly great human being with tons of class and character. Right up there with Ghandi and Mother Theresa. How could I not have seen it before this post? It's like the scales have finally fallen from my eyes!
