I am not bothered at all by the SUV, it should not be stopped. Ferrari is a car manufacturer with many kinds of models that serve a different purpose: from supercars to convertible/coupes to 4 seaters to GT cars to pure sports cars, … Why not an SUV as it’s clearly the favorite type of cars for many many people, and as it makes a lot of money for a brand, its RD, its future.

Let’s not forget it will be a Ferrari, therefore we can expect a gorgeous design, an incredible powertrain, top luxury, superb handling, the best of the best for SUVs. Cheers to the brand and its future, not selling my RACE shares.

High riding SUV would be a massive compromise for handling and the market is full of them why another

    Because they sell.

You know what doesn't sell. Wagons and sedans on the market.

If they build it as a high riding sedan/wagon/5 door it won't perform as well as an ACTUAL sedan wagon or 5 door. It will be too high and comprimised.

The urus is a out of the park hit and it sells insanely well and drives insanely well.

The reason why they build so many is because the pool of buyers is so great

Can’t wait to see it. Won’t be putting one in my garage but it’s simply the proper play. I’m sure it will be a proper Ferrari…

For sure Purosangue is inevitable considering the investors. Maybe only way to grow. But getting into utility vehicle business will mean that you are one of "them".
It is a market with very tough competition. Being there does not also guarantee the brand's future. You need to be present something different than the others so that the customers will pick you out of many options. Yes the Ferrari's brand/name value can not be neglected, but even you may use its effect for a limited of time.

The FUV Purosangue will be super exclusive and strictly limited. In the first years only top tier clients will be allowed to buy one. You cannot simply buy one without being already a top Ferrari client. It is not about producing 10'000 units more to the already built 10'000 sports cars. That is not the plan. Prices will start at Cullinan level or higher.
Forget all the Bentaygas, Cayennes, DBX, Maybachs, etc. The new Purosangue will be on a much higher level, much more exclusive and rare.

That's a very valuable piece of info, and I appreciate your comment. However it leads to more question marks on my side.

    - If that will be limited edition why do it with a very popular and non-Ferrarish configuration? A limited edition can be done with a two seater and it will be sold before it is announced for sure. Maybe they try and see in a limited way how the customers react for such a configuration and decide in the future to go that way or not?

    - If top clients are in scope here should we consider that an FUV request came from them? I don't own any Ferraris but as a real aficionado I don't think that I would come with such a request.

    Thank you.

It will only be limited in the first year or two. The first cars will go only to selected VIP customers.
TTBOMK there was no request by clients for an FUV. But being a public company at NYSE they have to satisfy their shareholders and must generate more money.

Agreed, the only thing limited about it will be the. Ability to get a new production line going. SUV has nothing to do with racing, a 2+2 can have something to do with racing. Unfortunately Ferrari production is increasing rapidly over the last decade or so, and the SUV will increase it much more, and some of the “magic” around owning a Ferrari will be lost

Years ago when the Ferrari SUV first came to light, I fantasized about getting a bunch of people together to block off every entrance and exit of Ferrari with Ferraris, and not move them until the factory agrees to not make a Ferrari SUV. Kind of like a sit-in protest but with cars.

But that is fantasy and this is reality. Everyone wants SUVs now and Ferrari needs to make money. The big upset is that this car is going to be really good. So good in fact, that it's going to stick around.

The great news is that all the cool Ferraris already are made and exist in this world. We just need to care for them for future generations to enjoy.

Have you ever seen the production numbers on those cars? (BTW I'm a wagon lover)

Part of the reason people love those now is because they are rare... They are rare because they don't sell in any significant quantities

I forgot: should ferrarichat open a model specific section called Purosangue, as more and more comments and threads will be created and as this vehicle’s production is definitely happening?

Agree but wagons and SUVs are different buyers (I previously owned a E63S Wagon and currently have a Panamera Turbo S hybrid sport turismo). The market for high $ wagons just isn’t there, AMG produces 200-300 of the wagons at $160k each, Porsche probably half that for $210k wagons. Yet I see plenty of AMG G wagons and Turbo S Cayennes. The market for wagons and shooting brakes is a lot smaller than SUV at any price range. I’ll still buy the wagon :)

Typically sections are created after the machines have been officially announced and displayed. For practical reasons, it's because the factory tends to throw curveballs on the names.

Yup. These things will be expensive at first, and then a decade later be available in "no job, no problem" car lots for 15K.
