Bring a Trailer opportunity for someone to purchase a really nice looking early 3.3 Turbo.
This NON-SUNROOF 1978 930 was delivered with interesting Green Piping on the Sport Seats. The Turbo Graphics, while period correct, are not listed on the CoA and may or may not be a factory option.
Minor issues include an aftermarket A/C Compressor that replaces the original York unit and the left steering column stalk that has been replaced with the currently available newer style device. I believe the Hirschmann antenna outer assembly as shown should be all black with an "h" on the base and also on the top of the antenna tip. I am not sure what the characters on the lower fronts of the L&R rear quarter windows represent. Other minor issues may exist, but from what I see from the pictures provided, I think any returns to total originality would require minimal effort.

It seems apparent that originality trumps all else with the action this 930 is receiving.

 

LOL - “optioned from the factory without a sunroof”. Looks nice but why does a 33K mileage car have a repainted gas tank? Without maintenance records prior to 2001, it would be nice to see the VDO speedo date stamp.

OK here is my guess $130/132k but then I mainly follow the 930 3.0 liter cars since I own one of those. FYI - Hagerty has the valuation for this year 930 3.3 liter car at $131k for a number 2 car I just looked it up but they are a trailing indices and the trend line is on a slight up swing.

If the reserve is $150k I would bet it doesn’t sell, time will tell?

A little surprise for me, as I thought it was between #2 and #3 car, it sold for $141k but a long way from $150k+. I would think the seller should be smiling with this sale price.

It was a 15k mile car, paint to sample and likely a number 1 car. Unique car so easier to believe than the above sale, IMO

Local to me Porsche dealer just listed this: Marketplace - 1979 Porsche 911 | Facebook in USD they are asking roughly $229K

Front and rear trim says RoW. Emissions sticker in tail says US. Do you know the VIN?

 

Don't know the vin. I'll check our Autotrader, the dealer sometimes lists on it and the vin gets posted in ads there.

 

Still not posted on Autotrader. So no vin. They relisted on Marketplace Marketplace - 1979 Porsche 911 | Facebook and raised the price. Now asking $499K CDN or roughly $394K USD. Granted it only has 13k kilometers, but still think its overpriced.

 

So perhaps a future Jay Leno garage episode on Walter Payton's '79 930?

This car has surely been shuffled around the last few years. The blue interior (code 94) on my ‘79 never gets old, i love it. That dye job ruined this car for me too.
