X-OST is officially a 355 parts relic. I read old posts where you believed their manifolds and SECA manifolds were either the same or of the same manufacturing source. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So my curiosity got the best of me again . Decided to do some digging around to see if any of it was remotely true or somewhat exaggerated. Found the physical address to Tubi and X-OST. Lo’ and behold they ARE (or were) literally across the street from each other. As a matter of fact, they both are across the street from Ferrari and X-OST shared the same building plaza with a Ferrari training center. If I remember correctly, I was going off of pics that some had posted and comparing those with the ones that were on the X-ost website.
Looks to be a standard Tubi. Pics of mounting brackets should say “355.” X-OST mounting brackets are different. Spacing of the lines indicate on the muffler indicate Tubi to me. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah looks like standard Tubi to me also, I will upgrade to new Tubi manifolds + cats. I really like the sound of this exhaust
Update.... Car is going in tomorrow for service. Will know this week or next what this capristo sounds like!!!
Pretty sure 100+ threads and countless videos attest the same thing.. it's not really an unknown. I predict you'll love it, not too loud when cruising a but awesome when opening it up and you recommend it. Either way good mod so enjoy! Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Tubi Evolution is what you should be aiming for. Most who have tried it like it much better than standard Tubi. My nero 355 (2.7) came with standard Tubi (with straight pipes). I wasn’t very fond of it.
Should have cat back this week. Had a list of fixes that the holiday slowed some parts. Tuesday or Wednesday I hope.
Vivid racing, ordered from Ryan Mcfarlin. Gave me the best price without any difficulty. Not sure if I can post prices here, but pm me and I'll tell ya.
Wanted to bump this thread to say it was exactly the motivation I needed. Thanks to JohnnyTT for getting my butt in gear to order this, Ryan McFarlin at Vivid Racing for the great pricing, and Capristo Germany for shipping my exhaust literally within an hour of us placing the order. I paid Monday at 4p and no joke, it arrived on my doorstep at 11am this morning (Weds) in SF all the way from Germany. Incredible. Thank you UPS.
Which "version" did you order ? I bet it came with no indication on the muffler. Just a Sound 1 , 2 , or 3 sticker slapped on a box.
Sound 1 for me, anything more and my neighbors would be impounding my car when I leave in the morning at 6:30a
After almost four weeks of waiting for parts and other little fixes, I have my car back. The mechanic started the car and let it warm up while we were discussing. The idle was slightly louder than before, but I really don't think that much different. (Which is what I wanted) After getting warm, and standing outside the car, he gave a solid Rev. Well....... I'm pretty sure Godzilla and Mario Andretti designed this thing. The scream is insane!! When the valves open and you get past 6k and up... It's shocking. (Sorry to the Tubi guys, which I've heard in person) this is pure F1 sound. It's better than the videos. I'm honestly shocked. I had lower expectations, and was ok if I had to sell it if needed. But.... I think I'm good. We'll see. Also, it is loud. I mean loud. But only when you're really on it. So it seams to be the best of both worlds. I'll drive it more and come back.
