I am quite new to the Ferrari world. I ended up with my '77 308 GTB from BAT. First, I have to say this car is a joy to drive but will need a lot of sorting out as it has been mostly in storage since '92. I am missing a few parts and one of them I would like to find is an air cleaner lid. Lots of Google searches have come up empty except for the one on eBay. Is there a "Go-To" place Ferrari 308 Owners go to for used parts?

I am in the Louisville KY area....

I did recently purchase some parts from eurospares and they showed up in five days... I'll send them an inquiry. Thank you.

You actually need a top and a bottom -- that bottom that you have is from a '78-'79 US 308 (it has the larger, boxy snout with the internal closing flap). The top may fit either (but I don't know that for sure, as in the F documentation, the top and the bottom are grouped together as a single part number) so just getting the top may get you where you need to be functionally, but this is how your air cleaner housing should look (this is a 1977 euro 308, but the overall shape of the air cleaner is the same as a 1977 US 308):

Well that is certainly interesting. I didn't know there was a difference until you pointed it out. So the one on eBay is correct yet pricy?

No not correct. You need the round shape inlet housing. I'm not sure but may be unique to 1977.

No, that is for a 1978-79 US 308 (same "boxy" snout with the airflap and airflap actuator).

Seems more correct, but not the greatest photo to tell. The picture that Claude posted in the next post has given me some doubt as the one in his pic looks like the 1978-79 US overall shape, but lacks mount for the airflap actuator. Maybe on the very late carb euro (which is what the eurospares 1980 part is) the physical bottom box is the same as 1978-79 US 308, and they just left off the airflap stuff. The whole snout for a 1977 US 308 is much more rounded and does not have the jog extending downward like in Claude's picture (or a 1978-79 US 308 bottom).

That picture looks like the same boxy style I have.

Yes you're right. The proper one is the one on Steve's picture.

Mine is 22475. I do wish just the lid was easier to find.

I saw those. Doesn’t look like they are available any longer. I’m considering building out of stainless and polishing.

Ooops! I just realized that your photo in post #1 has the 1978-79 NA(US) boxy air cleaner shape, but does not have the bearing for the internal flap shaft -- just like the one that Basal Skull posted. I can say that I've never before seen a 1977 NA(US) 308 boxy air cleaner like the one Basal Skull posted here before, but his is some pretty good evidence that maybe late '77 NA(US) 308 did use something like yours in post #1 (i.e., the "boxy" snout shape but with no internal flap). Just to make things even more confusing, the F part numbers for item 15 (110369 and 111006) shown in the eurospares link that you posted have photos at www.ferrariparts.co.uk that are not "boxy":

110369 (bottom side) -- this looks most like what I (previously) though a 1977 NA(US) 308 would have:

111006 (bottom side) -- I have never seen this style before with the three inlet holes in the snout

So I'm going with: "some weird **** happened in late 1977 with the NA(US) 308 air cleaner housing" ;).

I have a feeling mine is original, just lost the lid before I acquired the car. Same as Basal Skull's original example. Just need to source one sometime in the future if I can find one at all. I could purchase the eurospares one as a function in the meantime, which is probably what I will end up doing.
