I’m curious if Lewis can get a penalty for rear ending max
I think Verstappen / Red Bull made 2 mistakes to loose the race: 1. At the first restart Verstappen started on pole, got the tires not warm enough and let Hamilton passing him in the first corner. If Verstappen got the tires temperature correctly and held the first corner, likely he would stay in front without penalty. 2. At the second restart, he got Medium tires while Hamilton got Hard tires. I think this is too much of a gamble from Red Bull. If Verstappen was with Hard tires maybe he could still force to overtake Hamilton at the first corner given how aggressive he raced today.
KTU who cares. Hed better go check on lulus feelings also. No sportsmanship like rearending a car you try to let pass..
Nope. LH is a complete buffoon who drove directly into the back of MAX without a penalty. It's totally irrelevant if MB and LH knew they were being given the position back - you don't deliberately run into another car without a penalty. FIA = MIA
If Hamilton gets a 5 sec penalty, he would still keep his victory. If he gets a 10 sec penalty, he would still keep his victory. I don't see FIA giving more than 10 sec penalty, so I don't expect any change of the result (regarding points). Btw, what penalty did Vettel get when he deliberately squeezed Hamilton in 2017 Azerbeidzjan? 10 sec stop and go right?
Sounds like Max wanted Lewis to pass before the DRS line ...and Lewis tried to stay behind to get DRS OR Max just tried to take him off ...you dont need to slow down that much to let a car past ..going down to 3rd gear
WooooW!!!! Hamilton does something unpleasant and we 6 new threads! Verstappen walks off stage like a kid: "We don't care" Loooooool!!!!
i think there are two mitigating factors in that consideration: 1. normally, when a driver ceding a position, they move aside to indicate that. Max was in the center track, so that probably muddled what he was doing 2. Max is heady…he was trying to get Hamilton to pass before the DRS detection zone so that he could immediately pass him down the straight (which he later executed successfully). All of those factors will come into play in determining what happened there. Note: A 10 sec penalty won’t work either as Max had a 5 sec penalty and finished 6.5 secs behind on track (he did not get the 5 sec penalty for that incident, btw)
Absolutely agree. The whole "woke culture" that hands un-deserved victories to poor sports like Hamilton ... even after he deliberately slammed into a slowing driver instead of easily passing ... does nothing to help raise the respect for Hamilton, or the sport as a whole. This was absolutely the season when the "woke culture" literally handed the championship to Hamilton ... and the whole world knows it. F1 racing has become a pathetic joke.
To bring some love, peace and harmony to this thread: our beloved Scuderia only needs 6 tiny points to secure P3 in the WCC!
Meh. That's not an excuse for crashing into another car. Even lying Toto can't find the words to compensate for LH's idiocy. Nothing wrong with the race. MB is a dirty team and the FIA is incompetent.
Frankly I hope that Binotto will keep his promises for next year because I am really tired of seeing our beloved team get ridiculed..
