Hmm, what's the advertising like inside? Because even at $250 a pop that won't cover creation, curation, printing and distribution, and that's before you get to the fewer punters buying in ($250 is significant wedge).

Hardly any advertisements at all, that is the great thing. I guess they are doing quite well, and let’s not forget that the Porsche community is huge.

000 sub going to $275 effective 1/1/2022 so if you are thinking about it get it now. Fantastic publication with good writing, photo quality and unusual content. Also, only secured through subscription.

Not *exactly* a periodical but does anyone here get the daily racing email updates from Autoweek.com?

Issue 1 was very very nicely done. Love the design and format in first place, it was full of small amazing details I love and care a lot about! Too bad it didn't reaches the expected results - probably in terms of sales?

For EU customers I would recommend to subscribe through Automobilsport, 000 Official European supplier. Excellent service, no customs at all obviously and fairy fast in shipping (you get it just one week later than US usually, even less sometimes).
They inform me too about new shipping rates from 2022. It's not cheap, but as I told before, it's the perfect example of HOW a magazine should be.

Jack Autosport.com is the best F1 website, miles ahead of AW, I check it about 6 times a day except off season. F1.com has great news, interviews, videos same days such as practice,q and race highlights, same for Le Mans and Indycar though for the latter Indycar.com is useful albeit clumsy.

AW ceased being relevant years ago as far as I'm concerned.

I was an avid subscriber for many many years. They just let the whole thing dry up. I kept asking how can the UK do Autocar every week and make it interesting?

Still subscribe to Automotive News, 50 yrs now.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. Mostly I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that AW has apparently closed its comments section.

This morning I picked up a copy of Octane/Evo's latest Ferrari special edition. Getting in early with the 75 years! Some nice articles. Some reprinted from Octane and Evo (although I only occasionally get Evo so I'm not too sure how many are reprinted from it and how many are new for this publication).

Too bad they do not deliver to Switzerland. I called them about ten days ago and they are unwilling to send to Switzerland. Unusual "customer service".......and I am an Octane subscriber since decades.........
And before anybody asks, no it is not available at any kiosks in Switzerland (where I live), not even at ZRH or GVA airport. Strange world.

    Try magsdirect.co.uk/magazine/octane-75-years-of-ferrari/

I should add that I have used them quite a few times in the UK without problems but obviously not to deliver to Switzerland

I rarely go to Zurich ( they see a French number plate and the speeding and parking tickets seem to be pre-written before you even breathe;-) Evvvvvery time...even when the parking payment machine is broken and 30km/h radars that flash you blindingly from the front and then from the back like an assault) but in Geneva the choice has shrunk a bit. The main news stand at the airport (outside customs) closed, though there is a second one in the arrival lobby that is decent. At the train station the best one has dramatically shrunk its selection of International car magazines. Yet two others there do have a fair choice of offerings and my main go to spot is K Kiosk 13 Rue de Rive. I refuse to subscribe to any magazine, I buy or not on a case by case basis depending on the article selection.

    Marc

I am a longtime subscriber of Octane magazine and also subscribe to about 30 other car magazines from all over the world. So, I get the latest copy of Octane in the mail (sent to me in Switzerland), all wonderful, and then I notice a full page ad for that special 75 year Ferrari anniversary mazine/issue. I want to order that special mag and call those Brits (the same company which delivers my Octane mag since years!) and they say they don't deliver to Switzerland. How crazy is that? And I believe the same company as Octane is/was also responsible for the absolute chaos and disaster with Enzo magazine.........
Do these guys really know what they are doing? Is everybody now sitting in home office in their pijamas, eating chips and drinking red bull while playing on their laptops and pixxing off their customers?
I really wonder how these people make their living.

That discrepancy is bizarre Marcel, absolutely.
As a freelance who writes for Octane I have only contact with the editorial office, none whatsoever with the commercial & distribution offices.

The former is excellent the latter seems to have issues yes, very unfortunate.

    Marcel,

Have you tried ordering the magazine from the web site? It’s entirely possible you spoke to someone who doesn’t know anything. The e-commerce page might permit delivery to Switzerland.
