I remember back around 1992, I rode a GSXR-750, or couple of times, and it blew my mind how fast that thing was. Totally ridiculous in acceleration and you had better have had a grip because the power was instant. About 10 years later, around 2000 or so, a friend of mine bought a GSXR-1000 new. It was stupid fast and once night he was heading back to his apartment on a side road and a lady backed out of her driveway and he swerved and went straight into a commercial dumpster at about 45 Mph. He was in the hospital for 6 months because he was messed up. He told me he was doing about 55 or so, but he didn’t blame the lady since it was around 10:00 at night and very dark, since streetlights around there are spaced only on an intersection. The lady called 911 and no charges were pressed against her. OK I digressed, back to the bike, if you have never been on a GSXR-1000, or driven a jet dragster, then try one out and the Ferrari will seem very slow. Thanks for memory recall.
True but I bet you the bike feels quicker! Not to mention the bike can lay that time down all day long, but that is splitting hairs. Not taking anything away from the Plaid, that's a hell of a feat for something of that mass. If 0-60 is the priority than it is unquestionably the King. Now if only they made it look like a hypercar! I’m not sure why people keep saying 0 to 60. The plaid does not make full power till 80 mph. This is for those whom have historically believed 2 wheels are king on the highway.
Yeah, it's hideous. And I was saddened to learn that Ferrari will be permanently abandoning the long hood/short deck profile of the front engine cars when they go to electrics. Which means, to get the 599/Portofino GT body-style I prefer, the only option is to convert one to electric. And that would bring out the HATE from the purists...

This question is not about Tesla specifically. It's about the yet unreleased fully electric sports cars to come. Many of which will not be grotesque crossover station wagons like the Plaid, but sexy sleek low slung street runners. It will be then, and not now, that Ferrari will have to stand out. And if Ferrari can't outrun those cars, because electric speed is far cheaper to engineer than combustion speed, what then will Ferrari have to offer? Gucci handbag status? A racing pedigree? Why would you spend 3 to 4 times as much money for a Ferrari when Chevy or Ford makes a car that is just as fast and cheaper to repair? It's a legitimate question. Which is why there are so many straw men and red herrings in this thread. Few people want to actually answer it.
It is sad to say, but your points are extremely valid. Electric allows all the mass manufactures to put some sleek curves on a frame and have the same performance as all the pedigree exotic manufacturers. This is exactly why I want a 488 also. In 15 years, at least my fossil fuel rocket won’t be duplicated by those mass manufacturers in the future. It will be a limited special vehicle.
IMO Ferrari is all about status now. It’s has nothing to do with performance. Yes there are a few enthusiasts left but for the most part all I see is people who are in the game to impress. It could just be my area but it’s night and day different from when I worked at a dealer in the late 90’s. Every local event here the first thing you often get asked is “what do you do?”. The dealer has a champagne vending machine for Christ’s sake!!! No way in hell they are going to make that statement with a Chevy or Ford. Even if it’s faster it won’t matter. It doesn’t matter how fast it is, the heritage or if it is an EV. They are wealth signaling just as women do with purses. The keep it in a garage only to take it out if they are guaranteed VIP parking at the current hotspot. Most are leased and the owners jump from brand to brand depending on what they think is “it”. Zero knowledge of the past with no desire to know. Ferrari will follow suit with whatever is “in” to fulfill that niche. If it happens to be electric they’ll go all electric. Make no mistake about it, the ONLY thing they care about is profit. They could care less about their lineage or what Enzo would have done. This is evidenced by all the ******** “special editions”, **** merchandising, fashion line, social media, etc. How about coercing people to buy a lesser model to get their order in line? Cough, FF, cough!! What’s even more scary to their future is that the next generation of future buyers could care less about cars. I’m not sure it matters if it’s electric or not. They would rather not even drive themselves! How do you market a Ferrari to someone that doesn’t like to drive? Will it have to become some bespoke, Uber iPhone? I don’t know. Not sure being an EV will be enough. Hopefully as they age enough of them will have the means and desire to want a Ferrari. If not, it won’t matter what the power train is.

Might want to research more. I'm down 9% after 24,000 miles in my 2020. I agree with you. These are fantastic cars but not something I would give my children when they're ready to start driving. I love my Streetfighter V4S but stock it will lose to a plaid. Tuned the plaid will blow by around 150mph.
Don’t have to make that choice as it’s not a zero sum game. Daily the plaid, fcar for weekends and special occasions.
The range and battery health vary from car to car as well as charging routines and how often super chargers are used. Yours seems on the very low end of the norm.
It's not really 396, I'd say 60% of that to be fair The crazy thing is though, I expect that to be 60% of the advertised claim of 1000 miles pretty soon And in a few years, 60% of the advertised claim of 5000 miles I don't think we will see a car, that doesnt cheat the figures (aka not a VW) which gets more than 700 mi range like the VW TDI used to do (presumably) I certainly don't expect any Lexus or Ferrari to some how turn a 250mi range into 500mi, or 1000mi I think we are still on the S-Curve of EV technology, I wonder when the advancements will slow down Just the insane difference in power and range from @rob lay's Model S p85D versus my Model S Plaid illustrates the point very well "250 mile range" versus "390 mile range" 690hp versus 1000hp 697tq vs 1050tq I think the closest jumps were in the mid 2000's when the AMG super charged machines were coming out that bumped the horse power numbers from the mid 300s to the mid 500s, but we certainly didn't see the range increase that much
185 mph is moot to me as I would never go that fast, especially on the street. I realize there is always something faster out there. But, as a daily 4 door sedan it holds its own, up to 163 mph. With that logic both my 360 and 458 are faster since they can reach a higher top speed.
The advertised range is 405 provided u have the 19 inch wheels. The optional 21 wheels will reduce that number by 15 percent. Cold weather will drastically reduce the range. The suggested charge interval is charge up to 90 percent and don’t go below 20 percent in order to preserve the battery. I find the range to be adequate. I believe edmunds did a review which was critical in general towards Tesla. In the review they ran it from 100 percent to zero and the range was exactly as stated by Tesla.
I think driving style changes a lot I drive in sport and plaid mode, not chill I also don't expect to get more than 12mpg

AT 150 ?I dont know about your bike, at 150, the tesla would be way back in the rear view mirror of my Ducati . 208 at the crank and 452 pounds, the V4S is so fast, Ive had it for about 18 months, and still have not selected race mode, its faster than a stock 1st , 2nd . 3rd gen busa up to 1/4 mile, 2nd gen Busa would have beat the tesla in the video 194 HP vs 187 HP , 3rd gen is slower out of the box . AFter the 1/4 mle run, any liter class or above bike will dust the tesla right up to 200 MPH . Thank you
Faster to me has always meant what is the top speed, the 1/4 is a very short run, so when it comes to what is the fastest, the tesla is slow compared to a lot of other cars and bikes. LIke I said before, any comparison is waste of time, Im sure there are a lot of engineers out there who can attach wheels to electric motors and brag about how fast they are, its a joke. Good grief. Just because this tesla can go against these bikes in the 1/4, once passed that marker, lets say like in a real world roll on , on an empty freeway with lots of room to spare ,the tesla would be obliterated .
