Massi decision was indeed... "irregular", Mercedes has grounds for protest.

But I doubt they dare to change a championship result, they´ve always looked more interested in saving their face than in strictly following the rules.

No one now or ever in the future will ever be able to prove they are better than Senna or Schumacher. The cars today are too easy to drive and basically drive themselves. Nothing nearly on edge like what they used to drive.

Him having the most records is a fact. You have an opinion. Impossible to put them in same car. But thanks for sharing your opinion.

I was surprised Hamilton mustered enough to even share the podium so I give him a pass for missing the post-race conference.

Can’t expect too much you know…

Really hope the Mercedes board will call Toto to stop all this madness.
They know effects would be disastrous for Mercedes image.

I’m going to hope this was taken before he sat down. Hopefully Lewis isn’t that bad a loser. All the post race video I saw of him showed him being respectful.

If not that will just further cement his reputation of being an entitled, whiny little *****.

MB's protests will fail. All BS semantics.

The passing under safety car would be more problematic but even if Max was very slightly ahead at any point,
they'll go back to checking LH's braking etc. No way the FIA will undo this.

MB ensuring any good will towards them is gone.

Lewis has had a easy life, he has had the best car and he only got Alonso and Rosberg* as tough team mates. Schumacher and Senna faced drivers of the caliber of Prost, Piquet, Hakkinen, Alonso... There is not comparison, Hamilton is one of the best in history, numbers don't lie, but he doesn't touch Senna or Schumacher,

Disagree. Masi was waiting the track to be clear and safe before allwowing the lapped cars to overtake. He didn't reverse any decision, that was said by te Hamilletes from SKY TV UK.

Ok time for a bit of what 'should have happened' assuming the FIA wanted to ensure the best show in a somewhat sporting manner....

As soon as Latifi hit the wall the race should have been red flagged. The FIA has shown no problems doing this and Latifi's car was in an area with no run off requiring a long clean up. A seasoned race director would have been able to figure this out fast and thrown a red within the lap. Under these circumstances Max and Lewis would each be allowed to change tires (controversial but the current rules as they are written) and would line up 1-2 on the grid for a 3-4 lap shootout to decide the championship.

On a personal note, I would not have wanted to see this because I consider it stage managing by the FIA but at least it would have created a situation where the two top drivers in the championship would have the opportunity to fight it out on as equal terms as possible. I can accept this knowing that racing is first and foremost an entertainment activity and sometimes this stuff happens a little to help out the show. That said what happened today was too much manipulation regardless of the outcome.

    Don’t think so.
