i don’t see the Stewards overturning. They won’t penalize Max for passing under the safety car (that would be ludicrous), but I would guess Merc will elevate the question on the safety car procedures to the courts (they have a lawyer on site for the stewards protests already). I think Messy screwed it all up by only having some cars unlap vs all lapped cars. That was a subjective enforcement of the rules. I know it was all happening in real time and you have Toto saying “reward my guy for his hard work” and Horner saying “liberty and the fans want to see this won on a live lap” (and both would have said the opposite had the positions been reversed) so that’s why it’s urgent for a race director to know the rules and to act accordingly, without bias or arguments from the teams.

He crapped the bed by being indecisive and inconsistent all season. In this case, it’s a procedural call, there is no skirmish to consider. He will never be mistaken for Charlie Whiting, and in a season this closely contested, that’s the type of leadership that was required. No way Messy should return next season (even though F1 ratings were great this season).

I don’t question her attractiveness, but I do find it slightly unnerving how much she looks like Max. My son and daughter get asked all the time if they are twins and they don’t look this much alike…
