Um yeah, Carlos Sainz is slow?, he sucks?? You’re delusional. Carlos Sainz is the complete package, his speed is excellent and his racecraft is learned from his dad who was an incredible driver. He works twice as hard and long at the factory than most drivers. Le Clerc gets all the accolades but I think Carlos is the better package.

The engine isn't allowed to compete like the Mercedes. That's probably a bigger problem than the chassis, which is also not good. They have no lack of driver talent at Ferrari.

I’ve watched hockey forever. When a call is blown for one team (and it’s clearly caught on replay), almost every ref alive attempts to create parity by pulling another bad call for basically nothing on the team who got the advantage. The ref knows he’ll need to make parity before the game ends or get skewered by the owners, the league, the press and the fans, especially if it’s the last game of the season for the Stanley.
Masi knew the first call was wrong (when Max got ahead on the turn yet Ham kept P1) and he desperately needed to put things in order before the race ended. All he could likely hear at that point were drumbeats increasing in volume about who his replacement should be for the entire off season after destroying Max’ chances, but he couldn’t find the combination to free himself of universal scorn. That is, until Latifi’s mediocrity came shining down on race control, an unexpected beacon of final redemption. Masi was so shell shocked by the lobbying, he almost missed the godsend entirely to ditch the monkey off his back.

Like so many other races this season, if TPTB had just let them race fairly, told Hammy to give the place back to Max on lap three, there probably would have been a different outcome. Hamilton was flawless in the race and the Merc was typically quick everywhere, they didn’t need help from outside to determine the winner.
Undeterred yet again, the stewards seemingly never run out of another cook to spoil the broth when they want a race to go a certain way. This time it backfired spectacularly.

Hamilton probably had this one in the bag if race control had stayed on the straight and narrow to begin with. A shame really, I would have preferred that race to the one we got. But anyway, congrats to the new champ, it was a deserving win.

Ferrari is getting their asses kicked

Hopefully F1 gets as exciting as Moto GP, just in a sense of having multiple drivers actually having an excellent chance of winning the title, not just 2 drivers ,unless Max and Louis retire, I dont think Ferrari will have a chance, so lets all look forward to 2022.I heard of some radical aero changes, not sure what else . All I can say, is Max won and he deserved to win, people can say all they want about the stewards, they mostly always ruled in Ham favor .

    Thank you

I’m sorry, but this is ridiculousness that can’t be taken seriously. When Ferrari makes a car that can win, the drivers will deliver.

F1 won't ever be as competitive as motorbike racing. The cars are too wide and they are very dependent on aero and those two things make passing almost impossible. That's the opposite of motorbikes which are very narrow and rely on mechanical grip so passing is much much easier and frequent. If you want F1 to be like that you need to dump the aero and make cars narrower (or tracks wider).

I thought for sure Ferrari made a mistake taking Sainz over RIC. Boy, was I wrong—just as wrong as those who were saying Sainz made a bad move leaving McL.

Considering how well Ferrari did this year with a car that they did no development on since the first few races except to introduce a new hybrid system ahead of next year, you have to think Sainz positioned himself perfectly for a great season next year.

Hopefully the team gets next year’s car right—and the risk is one team finds the magic formula—and we can expect wins at every race and not the random podium.

Max and Louis and so far and above the talent you speak of, that if the Merc cars were the same next year, and the Ferraris were better, Ferrari would still get their asses kicked , its that simple, Leclerc and Sainz are not as good as Max and Louis . And Leclerc is no where near as good as Vettel when he won his 4 titles.

    Thank you

F1 is not as competitive as Moto GP , and thats because most of the drivers suck, its that simple . Moto GP has more talent per grid than F1 has had in years.Moto GP racing is much harder than F1 , and its still more exciting , Suzuki, Ducati, Yamaha, Honda, KTM, all were all in contention of winning this year, and its a much more difficult sport , Honda maybe not, but Marquez is winning again, so is Paco B, next year its going to be insane !!Rins, Quattro, Bagnaia, MIr , Marquez, Miller, Martin, Zarco, all these riders are good enough and actually have a chance at winning the title, this versus 2 F1 Drivers. Do you remember when Senna , the day he died, put the Williams on pole, and it was a far less superior car ? What about when he won in Brazil, his car stuck in 5th gear, thats what talent means. Ferrari won this year at Le Mans, both GTE classes, pretty cool.

    Thank you

    Thank you

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we all saw how good Leclerc was when he bested BOTH Mercedes at Monza a couple years ago.

Maybe. F1 is not as competitive as moto GP because the car is more consequential. Until F gives them a competitive car we won't really know what they can do.

i will stay with what i said in that and other posts in this thread....IF hamilton had won in that manner, this DC would not have been considered legit to anybody except his most ardent fans.
as it is, the result was different, and hamilton behaved himself admirably.

totto on the other hand, revealed what many of us have thought all season, and that is that most of the FIA is in the bag for mercedes.

Ducati has the fastest straight line speed, but Yamaha won this year, and Suzuki last year, matter of fact the Desmo smokes all the other bikes in the straights , and yet they have not won a title the past couple of years at least.

I think part of the reason F1 is not that competitive , its because they have been dumbing it down the last two decades. When it was real F1, is when it was an open class sport, thus who had the best Formula, , now with all the hybrid bulls*** , and the insane rules and regs. I think the last good years of F1, were when they had the V10s. Get rid of that DRS, let them drive as fast as they can 100 % of the time, good grief. Let them build whatever kind of car they want, whatever engine , aero package they want, with the same rules and confines that they had when it was an open class sport, if they want a 6 wheel car, so be it, a V10 , V8 , v12, within the parameters set by the FAI , thats Formula 1. Moto GP has inline 4s, v4s, whatever aero package they want, within the parameters set forth.

    Thank you

Do you think Max in the F would have been competitive with LH?

What a difference a week makes, where’s all the “Max will never be world champion” folks from Saudi?

watching the race a 2nd time, I still don’t like the first lap Max/Lewis “no action” because HAM gave the gained space back. Also the commentators that “Ham HAD to leave the track?” Had to??? Hmmm, when Perez passed Ham later sir Lewis managed to stay on track and follow Checo.

Well, they won the constructor’s title and Bagnaia could have won the rider’s title if he had got to grips with the bike earlier in the season. He finished very strongly and is probably a good bet to win it next year.

Whereas Max did indeed “have” to leave the track when he passed HAM last week—because HAM stayed so far right of the first left apex that Max had nowhere to go— he had to give his place back. Not so for HAM today though.
