Toto proved with the rear wing DQ, he knows nothing about how the rules work when he shot off his mouth—as usual—about how it only missed by .2 mm or whatever it was. The go/no-go inspection is simple AND already incorporates margins for errors so it either passes or it doesn’t. But this was not enough for Dodo.

One team has a track record of taking out cars from the other team. The other team has a driver that you call dirty. Interesting.

    Agree
    He is absolutely special.
Even Horner seems absolutely amazed by the lap time Max is able to achieve in the RB16B..
    They know..
First I was thinking Charles was comparable but I have to say after this season I’m not so sure anymore..

Max is considered "dirty" or "dangerous" by the Hamilton fanboys, simply because he refuses to back-down from a fight with "Sir Lewis the Great".

Is Max bold? Absolutely. But he's not "dirty" or "dangerous" simply because he refuses to be intimidated by Hamilton.

Alonso called it right…may Is a step above any current driver in f1 currently.
Any does not mean all. In the past we've also seen select cars are allowed to unlap themselves quite often.

Since Rosberg Lewis has not had to defend once he was in the lead. The last couple weeks has shown how weak he is in such a situation.

Have you forgotten the season where Lewis crashed into massa and just about everyone else on pretty much a weekly basis? All drivers crash move on.

What exactly is their (and apparently your) point? With only one lap of racing there was no need to unlap any other cars. Common sense prevailed in that decision.

Unlike Max, LH is weak in all situations where a pass is actually contested. See Alonso, Perez, Max. He mainly excels when DRS propels him two car lengths ahead before the braking zone. But, then, who wouldn't?

I think I have a fairly unbiased opinion since I'm not hater nor a huge fan of either driver or team. I'm sort of over both drivers and teams. I do feel however that Mercedes has had a more than their fair share of a deliberate bias towards both driver and team in this year and certainly at times in the past, that have tipped scales in their favor. Obviously if you're Merc or Lewis mark... you love it... and hate it all if your'e not. But the only sure thing we know is that if this exact situation was reversed... every comment and emotion would be the exact opposite as well.

Forgetting about the WDC for a moment... I do think that Toto demanding to Masi that he not bring out the Safety Car was the most damning thing to ever be so publicly aired. It was classless. His entire demeanor was classless. Horner may be snarky at times, but he's fairly respectful and deliberate when talking to Masi.

I also very much dislike how Lewis calls anyone racing him "dangerous" as he did with Perez this race and most others in the past. If there's one driver that's not dirty, it's Checo.

While i don't believe prior wrongs should be corrected by new ones, I do feel that Max had more than his fair share of obstacles that had nothing to do with him nor his team, but purely due to his competition. Either way... there's nothing worse than finishing a race outside of race conditions. Merc made the gamble not to swap tires... even after asking which tires he would want. So in my mind, the last lap shoot out was fair... "run what you brung" so to speak and Merc came out at the bottom of it this time.

I for one am glad this season is over and overjoyed that Lando handed Ric his a$$ this season.

Max is known since karting to have a very particuar driving style, he likes the front to be very "sticky" to the ground. It's a more difficult set-up to make the car fast on the mediun/high speed turns, but obviously helps when he goes for his lunges.

Im not sure we see a repeat from Red Bull or max next year. The departure of Honda reminds me of the 98 Williams that ended up with a mechacrome engine …

As far as not giving up, I think Alonso comes to mind as well.

So that's lap 56. Masi's conversation with Horner was broadcast on lap 57 at which point he hadn't yet committed.
Question is when it took place.

Glad you mentioned Alonso never giving up, wasn't it one of the recent McLaren years at Abu Dhabi in the last few laps that he was just going wide repeatedly just trying to do anything to catch someone? Obviously a penalty and gaining an advantage, but fighting for 12th or whatever it was he was still fighting and having fun I'd say!
