Again, go back to the Saudi race. HAM completely avoided the left apex and drove straight across to the right apex. Max went off to avoid him, yet he was penalized. Max, in Sunday’s race stayed on track and hit his apex yet HAM didn’t back out, went off and increased his lead and was not penalized. Even the Sky muppets agreed HAM should have been forced to give the place back.
IMO that was an aggressive but clean pass. A dive bomb is where you full send it into a corner with zero chance of braking and making the corner on line. Once Max got his nose in he outbraked Lewis and had no trouble maintaining the line and staying within track limits. Lewis just didn’t want to back off which I fully understand. Im sure there are many here with far more track experience than me but based on my karting this is IMHO an acceptable, albeit aggressive overtake.
LOL, so the championship is decided on the whole season?! Duh. More sickening is this: Brundle thinks they should share the honours. WT- is wrong with these guys?!! Based on what, that HAM got unlucky with the SC and his team missed the chance to bring him in for a tire change. Will they allow all the past runner-ups to share the honours after a review of their bad luck during the season? https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/brundle-shared-verstappen-hamilton-f1-title-would-be-fitting/6884950/ Lauda almost died in ‘76, missed races and came second. Should he be co-champion? What about Prost in ‘90, just wiped out intentionally at the start, should he be co-champion? All these morons are trying to bend the rules and traditions to favour HAM and then complain that the race director—following the rules—fixed the race.
Agree. It always looks inappropriate to the guy getting passed while the guy passing is a hero. Even the commentators can’t agree: if the guy getting passed turns in, he’s not looking in his mirrors; if the guy passing is runs out of room because the space closed up, he took a stupid risk.
I'm with you...up until you recommend IMSA. IMSA makes BOP changes every race. They are getting quite good at it, so it's less obvious now. Do you know how many points IMSA awards for a win? 330. Second place gets 320. I'd recommend SCCA National club racing.
No. There was the option to slow down more then steer in later. If I can do it in iracing I’m sure a 7x wdc can do it too…
Okay interesting scenarios: If both Ham and Max were in the Mercedes who wins? How about if both were in the Red Bull? So each would have preference in their native teams. Would they split as in they would each win in their teams or someone would snatch it from the other one in the 'rival' team? Would Ham adapt faster than Max in the other car?

Let's be very honest....did he really have an option to fight? Really? Perhaps he's pissed as 3rd could've been 2nd ahead of Lewis, lol
IMSA is at least easy to watch and there is real racing ... but I get the BOP drives teams away... sad. They drove Risi and Porsche away... hope they can come back with the Hyper cars... BUT as for a race to actually see - in person its about the best. F-1 is terrible unless you are in the paddock - Paddock club and then its gets crazy expensive.
Why the FIA must not bury its head in the sand over Abu Dhabi F1 fallout Despite the controversial end to 2021's Formula 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi, the FIA backed race director Michael Masi's actions - which ultimately yielded a first world title for Max Verstappen. However, with even Red Bull upset about stewarding inconsistencies, the FIA must be proactive and improve how it runs races https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/why-the-fia-must-not-bury-its-head-in-the-sand-over-abu-dhabi-f1-fallout/6885074/
Update on the Mercedes appeal from a credible source: News I’m getting from solid sources is that the relations between MercedesAMGF1 and the FIA are NOT improving after AbuDhabiGP. Far from in fact…stories up soon.
No. for the 15th time RB would have done the opposite of Mercedes and stayed out. But you can't strategize aginst the stewards changing saftey car rules and hand picking which cars he wants to unlap... ingnoring all the remaining teams who are racing for points, and making the decision in the last second. Masi handed win to Max.
Didn't Mercedes have an opportunity on the 1st VSC? Yeah, they would have lost track position but still would have had newer tires??

Why would they? In Jeddah Lewis had more pace on hards than Max on Mediums. Mercedes can only go by the performance data and make decuisions. But neither RB nor Mercedes can strategize agianst Masi intervening the SC rules and going off stript.
