Does anyone and do you have the correct window cloths for your car/s. I have done a little research into these and searched the 308/328 forum but unfortunately it came up with zero results. It seems like most dont actually have the duster or possibly realise they should have one or are not bothered? For those who embrace this attention to detail , from my investigations the 1st picture shows a synthetic chamois leather cloth in a AGIP bag which was supplied for the late 246 Dino and early 308GT4. Its measure 34 cms x 30 cm approx. It was supplied with other Ferrari models of that era. The 2nd photo is for the 3x8 series cars which is a yellow window cotton cloth with the AGIP logo in the corner. The correct size should be 36 cm x 40 cm. Again, it was supplied with other Ferrari models of that era. Not sure about the "supercortemaggiore" cloth, its seems to possibly fit in between these cars but what period it from is unknown, to me at least. Certainly not a Ferrari related item but willing to be corrected. Interested to know who has these rare beauties. I do have the first version of the cloth in the original plastic. It came with one of my two Dinos, a 73 and 74 both GTS. I no longer have the cars but wonder what it's worth now day. Usually you don't hear anyone talks about it even the judges and don't know they exist for these cars.
We usually do but do not care. We dont judge cloths. We don't judge key rings. We don't judge license frames. I could go on a long time about trivial things we do not judge.
I think you are correct, many concourse judges I have met over the years dont know what version goes with what car. In the SHELL era pre 73 it was easy to establish the type of cloth supplied with the cars. The dino 246 had the cotton cloth Shell / Ferrari duster and this was changed to the one you have when Ferrari changed to AGIP late 1973. The cloth also changed to a synthetic chamois leather. Never suggested otherwise. My comment was narrowly aimed at an erroneous assumption based on erroneous information. And for the record. I was a mechanic in a Ferrari dealer during 308 production and I never saw one delivered with the cloth in the USA.
They exist, mostly by owners in the US, so in my opinion its not erroneous at all, but it's good to know you paid so much attention as a mechanic in a ferrari dealership, your memory is exceptional considering it was 40+ years ago. Best Tony
Do you have any idea what year 308's people say they got them with? And are we talking about original owners?
The 246 (and other models ie Daytona) came with the Shell / Ferrari duster and was a yellow cotton cloth material, the later 246 Dino's (Oct 73 + around chassis no 072XX) came with a plain synthetic chamois cloth within a AGIP plastic pouch to promote the change of sponsorship of the F! team and the switch to AGIP products in their production cars. All 308's thereafter had the AGIP logo printed on the duster of similar or identical material to the late dino 246. I dont know the history behind the "supercortemaggiore" cloth, but my guess is that is was for early Alfa's and not Ferrari related item I'll leave it to original owners to chime in if they still have their examples, i guess most were lost or destroyed soon afterwards. thanks David, Thats got to be the rarest plastic bag on the planet, very few have survived and it make a wonderful addition to the document set for later dino 246 models. Not sure if it ever crossed over into the GT4 dino. Strong possibility it did. Regards Tony
When I was a child those Agip cloths were a gift every time you filled at full your gas tank at an Agip gas station, whatever car you drove: my parents got many after refueling their small Fiat. Supercortemaggiore was the commercial name of 98 octanes gasoline sold by Agip at their gas station. The name is the result of joininig two words: Super (means the highest gasoline quality, there was also the "normale", the standard gasoline with less octanes) and Cortemaggiore, the name of the village where Agip found petrol in Italy. 1000 pounds for that: it's crazy!!!!!! Ciao Yes I know the history when AGIP found oil & gas in Cortemaggiore, the evolution of the AGIP logo is interesting too. When i was a young lad visiting my Gran in Cervinara i remember being given a AGIP road map by the kind man filling up our car. Dont get treatment like that anymore! Whether they are the same cloths or not is unknown but they were supplied by Ferrari with their new cars of that era. Check out page 354 of the Dino compendium.

Agree, we got our first 308GTB new in 1977 (USA) and it did not come with any cloth like that. Though we do still have the original hang tag for the clock (and the original tires...though we are working on that currently).
It was not supplied with any car, it's a gift of that gas station in Ghisiolo. That's not too far from my home: I passed there last week. ciao

Ghisiolo is a very very small village in the country. I never saw a gas station there: probably disappeared many years ago. Nice vintage object, but not for 200+USD, imho. ciao
