    You are correct.

When a race is "red flagged" after 75% of the distance has been run, it doesn't need to be restarted.

    I'm sorry, what?

The crash was quite small, nothing really damaged. No need for a red flag as clearly the crash was quickly recovered in a short amount of time.

There is a thin line between what is acceptable and unsporting behaviour in F1.
Blocking a racer by swerving, cutting his line, pushing him off the track, or slowing more than necessary is defending aggressively.
This invites an aggressive attack in return, which can end up in contact, and potentially a crash eliminating both racers.
It's maybe that scénario that Hamilton feared when he made his remark.
After all, he already had a few encounters with Red Bull this year ...

I don't expect you to agree with me.

To that, I would say no need for a full course yellow and a safety car period either.

A double yellow in the zone of the incident would have been enough to deal with the incident.

But F1 is becoming NASCAR bis, with its obsession in bunching the pack.

    William. You're writing drivel again.

There was a crash, the car needed to be recovered. The crash didn't damage any barriers to the extent that they needed to be replaced, nor was the debris field so big that the cars on track would hinder removal of debris, so no red flag needed.

But the crash was big enough to warrant the use of the SC over the VSC. VSC speeds are higher than SC.

The SC was the right call. Under the SC Red Bull made the right call to pit. Merc didn't do it despite having the gap. The race was restarted, Lewis didn't defend max who attacked in an unexpected place. Lewis lost the title.

Lewis also lost the title in Baku.

But it's easier to blame the FIA/Masi who have spend the entirety of 2021 helping Mercedes get closer.

It was on Showtime - Had to buy it but cost was minimal - Depending on your Cable provider/service you can either just speak to it and search for "Ferrari 312" or search for it manually - Absolutely AWESOME show!!

Autosport.com reports that Latifi is receiving “hate, abuse and threats” online, presumably from “the greatest fans in the world.”

Yep, that's what I'm reading too since the day he crashed.

He's apologized for the matter. (Don't see why he has to apologize???)

Pathetic. Perhaps they should threaten the mechanic who tested/installed/calibrated the Brake Magic button for Baku. But I think that was clearly ham's error, so perhaps they need to threaten his nanny Angela for not getting his mind right and being ready to use Brake Magic.

Latifi is thankful it wasn't Max/ Dutch fans with a 11 second lead when he crashed. He would come up missing.

Let all the fake Maxette fans have a little giggle mate.;)

The irony is, it is the ones that constantly complain and whine about Lewis whining, are the main ones on here whining on about him, it makes me wonder who the next victim will be when he quits.

Anybody with the mere modicum of intelligence can understand why Horner is trying help defend Masi from the grief he is getting, and why Ham fans are kicking off.

No matter what spin is put on it, the fact remains Masi single handedly decided to change and break the rules on a whim, and one that has never been done before. Consequently that ad hoc decision handed the WDC to Max .. and that is it full stop!. If folk want to call that a great win well fair enough it's up to them, but be sure to understand it will never be one in alot of folks books.
