I don't get it. If you're putting the drivetrain under a Lusso skin, why bother with camo? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
It probably isn't a Purosangue development mule. It's just a platform they use to develop new mechanical or drivetrain solutions. Some might end up being used on the Purosangue, some might be totally unrelated.
if Ferrari suv will have V12 then it will need to have long front right? in Urus you have V8 but for V12 you need much more space....
this car is masterpiece, I wonder we will evere have such iconic machine from Ferrari or any other manufacturer....LaFerrari is not even close to this diamond of human creation, absolutly mind blowing
A V12 is not dramatically longer than a V8. It's more a matter of position under the hood. You can also see that the Bentayga can be had with a V12, without having such a long nose. And the engine will probably be much further in the back on the PS.
Ok fair enough. Consider the Cullinan V12 then. My point is that I dont think the extra centimeters are really going to be an issue. We know Ferrari tend to mount their front engine very far back under the hood, leaving plenty of space in front. In the Lusso for example, they managed to squeeze another gearbox and the massive radiators almost laying flat in the front. In an SUV I could imagine the radiators would sit much more vertical, freeing up more space under the hood.
Isn’t a V12 1/3 longer than a V8? (Taking into account same cylinder bore). They may be able to shorten a bit with more upright position of radiators, but the 812 has a long hood with no front transmission… Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
His post I was like “wtf?” But it made me look at the Instagram video above to see if that is what he was writing about.
The hype for this car is beyond normal, my dealer tells me they receive about 2-3 calls a week inquiring about getting on the list..
This has been my thought. I have a V12 Lusso (which I like a lot). The front end is massive…and the dimensions of the car are dictated by fitting 4 people and a v12 engine within the wheelbase. The camo’d mule looks as if it will struggle with that. Besides…they’ve just spent a lot of money developing a v powerful (more powerful than the Lusso) V6 hybrid engine. Time will tell, I guess.
I hope to god this drives nothing like a FF/Lusso. I spent a day in FF and did not line the car at all. The rear seats were useless. Hopefully this has true usable rear seats, not fake ones. I’m hoping for good things with this car but not holding my breath.
2-3 calls a week doesn't sound like a lot to be frank...also if the dealer labels this as hype, does this mean he gets less than 2 calls a week on other models, if so then getting really worried about Ferrari
I hate to put you on the spot my friend, and frankly I don’t blame you if you don’t want to waste your energy however a sketch may be very appreciated. LOL @ingegnere Image Unavailable, Please Login
If it will have suicide doors like Mazda then rear seats will be usles cuz you need first open front doors to be able to open back doors, so otherwaise it's need to have classic doors like Urus, then it will be used as daily car by many ....
Thanks for the challenge, man! Truth be told, I was hoping that if Ferrari really wanted to emphasize its sporting heritage and distinguish itself from the pack, they’d do a radical off-roader type SUV, kind of like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login ... but from these pics (that look like the real deal) I’m afraid it’ll be just another high-end SUV but with some performance differentiators and a drooped nose. I may be wrong—and anyway, it’s probably what the typical buyer of this will want—but judging from the visual mass above the front tires, this looks to be a behemoth. Expect a big, fat wheel opening lip to visually “enlarge” the wheel size.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I agree and hoped it to go a direction similar to the Giugiaro Parcour however we know the corporate criteria this project is more about global politics and most importantly a cash grab. It will simply be a crossover. However it will sell and maybe fund some great projects.
