Because we are converting 12699 back to its original configuration it would be very helpful to take an in-person look at an early, plexi nose, Daytona; at an owner's, shop's or showroom's convenience.
Locations that I can reach somewhat easily include; all of California; western Nevada, including the Reno and Las Vegas areas; all of New England; and parts of New York and New Jersey.
If this would be convenient for someone to give me an hours access please let me know; by PM or on the site.
    Thank you in advance

My car - 12995 - is currently at Stephan Markowski's shop in Whippany, NJ. If you would like to have access to it, let me know and I will give Stephan a heads up.

Thanks westextifosi, I appreciate the reply. I will be back east between December 16th and 28th.
I will contact you when I have a better idea of my schedule while there.
Can you tell me what is it in the shop for?

    David,
After completing the Vintage Rallies Texas 1000 in April, I sent the car to Stephan for a punch list of items to be done: rebuild shocks, repair broken sway bar mount, tweak ride height (front tire sometimes rub the fresh air ducting), replace all flexible fuel line, etc. Most of this got done, but I needed the car for the Vintage Rallies Mountain Mille in early October, so I sent it back to him after the rally to wrap up the punch list and diagnose a couple of issues that cropped up on the rally.

Hello Tex, I am on this coast and with an apparently favorable driving forecast I wonder if next Tuesday, the 21st, would work for a look at your car..
If that will work I would need Stephan's shop address. Let me know if this would work. Thanks, Dave

Good morning Tex. I got to Whippany yesterday on schedule and found Steve and his
'crew' to be extremely accommodating. To say they were helpful would be an understatement.
A hundred photos later along with conversations about Daytonas and I had what I needed.
I really appreciated the opportunity to take a close look at your car; the front area in particular.
It is the first time for any of the three of us to have a view of how the plexinose configuration differs and what we will need to do to get our reverse conversion done.
Again, my thanks and a shout to Steve Markowski and friends.

Did Steve start his own shop in NJ and move down from VT? Is the old shop in Vermont still up and running?

To the best of my knowledge the Wippany NJ operation is Stephan's and Peter is still in his RPM in VT.

Would it be possible to share the photos taken? A friend of mine has 12723 and needs photos to fix the front nose of his plexiglass nose Daytona.

Before I get to photos let me give you some of our 'findings'.
The standard plexi piece itself, probably Scaglietti supplied, runs about $900; and are readily available.
The two metal strips that hold it in place are very difficult to find. And, cost about the same.
If you have the old ones see if they can be salvaged. (See below.)
We were able to source the lights holder. We have not found the 'cosmetic' piece that surrounds them.
That piece looks to be very easy to fabricate.
From the looks of your car it was never modified for popup headlights so you do not need to 'unmodify' the front shelves that the plexi sits in?!
All that said; your car is the first that I have seen with modified front body that allows the light to actually get out!
The front body piece has been modified to curve downward. That presents a significant problem as the available plexi and it's lower strip are not designed to work with that shape.
Perhaps a fabricator and create a plexi piece that will cover the unique lower areas
