OK, I'm confused. In your original message you said that the top was down. Is this a new problem?

Is your roof latched properly? Does the microswitch in the left hand locating/guide pin hole on top of the windowshield frame feel normal when you push it with a screwdriver or something similar?

Here's a flow chart which I created for automatic window operation.

To be honest, though, I didn't think about what would happen if the switch on the left hand primary ram slider plate was permanently open.

For clarity, I mean switch S9

How long ago was it converted? Has something had time to fail since a successful conversion?

The top was down, windows didn’t work, put top up, broke the lever on drivers side, unhooked the switch, windows still don’t work!
Where do I get a replacement latch for the top?...and I think I’m going to need a Ferrari mechanic to sort the window issue!
The top has been up and down a couple of times and the windows worked, till now

Yikes. Can you take a photo of the broken part?

I was was putting a new canvas on my roof a year or two ago and noted I could only access some of the internal latching mechanism (Even to access that, I recall I had to peel back some of the material glued to the front crossbar.

I have no idea where you would get parts

(EDIT: seems that a lot of the parts are available individually... new)

That centre block, rods, springs, etc, are shown in the link above.

Currently, with the roof unlatched (not that you have a choice) and the slider switch "Sx" unplugged, are both windows sitting 2 inches down?

    In summary:

    1) unlatching the roof and lifting it a few inches should open microswitch S9 on the windshield top frame and drop the windows 2 inches. In theory, you could short out the microswitch or stick something in the hole to activate the switch to simulate roof closed. This should give you manual window control.
    2) if it's not possible to do step 1, the roof is effectively open (to system logic). If both windows are down 2 inches, control is transferred to the left hand primary ram slider plate microswitch (Sx). This hasn't helped in your case, so the issue may be the Window ECU.

I’ve tried unplugging the switch on the console and the switch near the driver seat door, no change to the windows not working....doesn’t matter if top is up or down, windows don’t work

Seems like you're trying to make a point here :D My point is that the windows went down to the 2 inch mark. So, at some point in time, the windows worked (in auto mode). I don't know how long you've had the roof down.
If the windows are not working in auto or manual with the ignition in RUN and you've proved that the microswitches Sx and S9 are ok, then the only thing left is the Window ECU and its power. The wiring diagrams show power from the ignition switch and the two fuses (27 & 28 on the 5.2 car) going to the Window ECU.

You could make sure that the 3 plugs on the Window ECU are secure. Other than that, I guess it's a case of getting out your voltmeter to check the inputs to the Window ECU.

    Here's my wiring diagram:

    https://www.dropbox.com/t/CIhGFOghr8n8bxLM

There is an input into the Window ECU from the door open switches, but on my car it doesn't matter, the windows work with the doors open or closed.

Note: I just confirmed on my car that the windows will resume manual control with the roof ajar (unlatched) and the microswitch on the slider pushed.

See if I can explain the broken part without a picture....the soft top connects to the windshield with two little nubs, then, a handle on the soft top above the rear view mirror operates two ‘claws, one on each side of the soft top that locks the soft top to the windshield...the rod to the claw on the driver’s side broke loose from this ‘claw’ , and, therefore, I can’t ‘lock down’ the soft top to the windshield...I don’t know if it can be replaced, repaired, welded or what!
I’m at a loss as to how to fix it....and the issue with the power windows continues, I don’t know what to do, other than take to a Ferrari 355 expert :(

So you're basically saying that part 54 has somehow detached from the claw.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

These mechanical bits scare me. That roof section is sealed apart from the access panel in the centre.

EDIT: Can you see where part 54 has detached from the claw or has it detached at the handle end?

To get the access panel off, you need to remove the handle. This is a pain. You need a very narrow pin punch and some kind of reaction block. I put masking tape over the area where the pin punch is hitting so it wouldn't bounce and scratch the handle.

It broke where it in circles the claw, it broke where it connects to the claw

I *think* it’s the end of part 53, on the driver’s side, the little round end that goes around the claw broke

I guess my main problem is, I have no issue taking it to a Ferrari mechanic to have these issues fixed, I’m definitely not a DIY person!...I just don’t know of any Ferrari mechanics in Ft Worth...the nearest mechanic that I have heard of is at least an hour drive away! I could have it transported, but, I really would rather be with the car to explain :(

If the parts are available, it may not be an insurmountable problem. I just had a look at mine and access around the claw is generally good. The claw bracket seems to be held on with an allen screw at one end. Not sure about the other. I tried to take a video, but the lighting in my garage is not good. If you remove that leather cover, you may have better access.

Thank you, I did take off the leather cover, and can see where it’s broken....I have the top down for now, maybe I can get a picture tomorrow...either way, I still need the power windows sorted by someone other than me, the more I fool around with cars, the more I end up paying a mechanic in the end! ;(

    Understood.

Note that my coloured wiring diagram has been used by professionals, but you still need a technician who knows his way around the car.

Anyway, get some rest. It must be close to bedtime in Texas ;)

Here’s a couple of pictures of the driver side claw and the broken piece that connects from the handle to the claw
