I put my spider order last minute - question for current owners is AF pack recommended in the spider version? Right now mine is specced without AF. Just wanted to know how the ride quality is with the AF vs non-AF in a spider. Does the weight savings even matter? Besides the lifter what else would be pros and cons for AF vs non-AF in the spider? Thanks!

I don't have any experience with AF but without the lift, I would not be able to drive mine on the streets.

 

It has been reported here by member owners that the AF is quite stiff.

 

Does anyone know if you can order the AF stripe/nose in a contrasting color without the entire AF package if going through tailor made or Atelier?

 

With TM, the world is your oyster. Almost. If they like it. There are tons of stripe options.

I don't have personal experience yet, but some reviews I have seen are very favorable to the AF suspension. Matt Farrah seemed to appreciate all it does, though it is on the stiffer side. He rode in the LA canyons, which re not the best surfaced out there. For me, I will likely spec this in a completely opposite fashion as my GTS. It is one of the most technologically advanced cars out there, and I want ALL of the CF and goodies that makes it so. I am also interested to hear the difference that the titanium exhaust makes, if any, compared to standard. There's always Novitec if it's not up to par, but I'd prefer to avoid the GPF workarounds, etc. From what I can tell, it is a good sounding car, and dropping the top will be immensely appealing!

 

You can do similar but not the same livery/stripe pack


For my SF90 spider Atelier not TM I was shown 11 different combos. I asked and was told these were the options.

The world is mostly your oyster. For example the contrasting roof could not be other than black. I asked about Rosso rubino and nerotto which was not black enough. You can use other blacks however but was. Ot worth it to me for a different black per se

I've got a non-AF coupe (3,500km so far) and have driven a Spider demo with AF for half a day. The AF car was noticeably firmer in the suspension on bumpy roads. The ride in the non-AF car is quite plush and is softer than the Pista for example even when in Race mode. I definitely prefer the non-AF car but I do all my driving on the road and would be unlikely to take it to the track.

My dealer just called me, my Spider going into production early March, mega excited now, can’t wait to see, drive it and share the pictures

 

Congrats on the news! Interested to see pics when it arrives. Mine’s on a boat somewhere headed to the U.S. I received the final production photo and it looks as I envisioned it.

 

So for those that specced the AF package, do the doors come in full carbon like the coupe? A shame if not. And I'm sure the bill is not less for that considerable shortcoming....
