I am thrilled to be back in the ownership club after a several year dalliance with a Diablo 6.0. My new to me NART Blue Speciale arrived a couple weeks ago and I promptly added 20% to its mileage.

But the weather is terrible here and with lots of salt in the road I always store sensitive Italian cars for the winter in a cliamte controlled space. I've got the trickle charger on, car cover on, the tires pumped up to 45 psi (and I'll move the car 6 inches every 30 days). I'd like to add a can of Stabil to the tank, but the fuel neck filler won't open for a funnel and I don't want to force something. Any tricks to share for getting something besides a fuel pump handle into the gas tank? Any other tricks for winter storage with the new beauty?

The last two weeks were amazing, BTW. And I feel fortunate to get in "under the wire" before the big number sales happened at a good price.

    Thanks,
    Bill

First, CONGRATS on the Speciale! Especially in NART Blue - Pics please? As far as your fuel stabilization dilemma I believe there is a factory spec emergency funnel that is included in the tool kit that will work and not get stuck or jack up the capless fuel fill system - there is one in my 458 Spider - below is the part number etc. - Check and see - if not it looks like you could order the funnel as a separate part - Hope this helps - Cheers :)

That is one awesome car! You really should ship it down to Texas for the winter so I can care for it :)
But seriously, I do start all my cars at least once a month and let them warm up completely even if I can't drive them outside. Ideally I'd purge all ethanol from the system and fill up with plain old gas but the stabilizer is a pretty good alternative. My wife's Vespa recently needed a new fuel pump after sitting too long with ethanol gas :(

Congrats Bill! Is that the one that was at FofNJ? If so, that’s a beautiful spec. Pics?

I also just got my Speciale about a month ago… I’ve now more than doubled the miles. Ok, not hard to do since it started out with 480 miles. I’m just devaluing the crap out of it. :D

These are amazing machines. Enjoy yours in good health!

I have a factory fuel fill funnel for my 2015 458 Spider and also discovered that the fuel filler funnel from my 2014 Corvette works as well.
