15.3 gives the Race Director over-riding authority over the race clerk ... in matters relating to the safety car (among a few others).

48.12 gives an option ... to the race clerk, mind you ... concerning lapped cars (using ambiguous language, at that). It does NOT give any orders, rules or commandments to the Race Director that would over-ride 15.3.

If you look at these rules together, it's really not that hard to understand that the Race Director at Abu Dhabi broke no rules ... without even discussing 48.13's precedence over 48.12 (a precedence explicitly recognized by stewards and FIA officials).

Reading 48.12 in isolation ... as you have done ... is very, VERY weak sauce.

I corrected you ... by pointing out that Verstappen's outcome at Silverstone was determined as soon as Hamilton sent him to the hospital. Apparently, you are the only one on the entire planet who waited until the final lap at Silverstone, to understand that Max would get zero points

The point is remarkably simple: races are determined by several laps (not just one), and a season is determined by several races (not just one).

But alas, i'm done repeating a point that you simply refuse to understand.

 

And however they got their points, Lewis departed Abu Dhabi defeated.

When two drivers enter the last race of the year with 269.5 points each, yes, no mater what transpired previously, the one (MV) that came out of that race with 395.5 vs. the others (LH) 387.5 is deemed champion. This I understand very well. I've competed.
The could haves, the should haves, the would haves; the dids, the didn'ts, don't matter. They're in the past, and when official, are what they are. You can't change them with "what ifs".
The results today are all that matter. And when "today" is the last race of the championship, it determines the pecking order for that season.
It's all great "fun" to fantasize about those could haves, should haves, would haves, dids, didn'ts, and what ifs
But in real life (yeah, that thing called reality, not playing), it's over and the results are what they are. You then move on.
It seems so weird that there are those that are upset by Verstappens win and championship when they appear to be his fans. Ponderous.

 

So ... we can expect you to finally "move on". Correct?

He was sent to the hospital per norms after a significant impact. Even Bottas went after Russell collision. The hospital has ZERO to do with anything at all in all of this. Max also was found partially responsible for his trip to hospital, as LH was not found wholly at fault. Max went per the FIA Dr/Medical procedures. That should be obvious eh?

They trying everything they can to focus on previuos races. They can't own up that Masi determined the championship. Thats why they're on here trying so to justify it. They know their new best friend Masi decided the championship. I'm telling you man, they are not at peice with Max's championship. Thats why they keep posting trying to change people's view that Masi's actions were a farce.

Perhaps some of the Max fans can answer a question for me...

I've seen them base countless arguments centered around extremely detailed interpretations and applications of the rules. Parsing out words like 'any' and 'all' to justify letting only some of the lapped cars go by, looking at detailed wording of the regulations and interpreting them as giving carte blanche for the race director to do as they please. In addition labelling Mercedes as 'cheaters' for a 0.1mm variation on one of 3 measuring points of their rear wing. It is obvious that these people place a high priority on precision and accuracy with an underlying theme that there is no room for error or interpretation. That said please answer the following (without using previous rulings / perceived injustices to justify your answer):

Why was Max not penalized for passing Lewis under the yellow flag leading up to the re-start?

Fact is, Max was in full control of his car and could have hung back as far as he pleased. Much like Mercedes could have made that DRS gap as small as they liked but chose to push the envelope, Max chose to get up next to Lewis when there was no reason to do so. The fact that he overtook Lewis for even a millimeter (enough distance to decide a race win BTW) is a chance he took and the fact that he 'gave it back' should be immaterial to people who live and die by precision and accuracy as the Max fans seem to relish in

 

Masi said he wanted to go raing. All rules were thrown out.

 

The fact that Lewis 'gave it back' on the first lap should also be immaterial, right?
