Can anyone help? I am restoring a late RHD 1973 246 gts which has missing the removable fibreglass rear wheel arch covers. I have come across 2 types, (see attached image). I have tried to fit the left hand one in the image but it seems to me that it will never fit not without major surgery!! The right hand cover is a much better fit, but is it the right type for the year? The question is, which type do I use? Image Unavailable, Please Login . Regards, James.
Not sure how helpful this will be, but here is a photo of the cover of my right rear wheel well which appears original (it has the correct body number hand written on it). I am going from memory, but I believe the left rear one has some additional shaping to clear the engine air intake tube. Mine is a 1973 LHD / US model GTS built in July 1972. Mccand, Still confused. Which style should be fitted? My left hand side cover shown above is similar to a very early 246 (image attached). Why were these covers changed and when? Image Unavailable, Please Login Regards, James. .
There are a number of threads on this, might be useful. Search for "wheel well liners". For example: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/rear-wheel-well-liners.604441/ There are at least three types of liners, maybe more. regards, Andrew
Thanks very much all. Because this is an E series car, I now think after going back through the old ferrarichat posts that the right hand liner in my first image is the correct type. Regards, James..
Alberto, Having looked at the ferrarichat historical posts regarding 246 rear inner removable wheel arches I now think that the right hand image showing of the cover is correct type for my RHD 1973 gts., Regards, James.
